Well, as a Jew, I can't avoid caring a little. They're assholes... but they're my assholes. Some of you may have similar situations in your own lives.  :) 

The Christofascists worming their way ever more deeply into the already rotten apple of government have their own sentimental reasons.

And it's not like we have a lot of other buddies in the Middle East lunchroom to sit with.

But in the end, it's pretty simple... Jews are major campaign contributors. And they vote.

seriously, i do not understand the diehard devotion to a country which is standing by watching as we lose 3200 men in Iraq, and doesn't chip in. 

"They're our friend" is the cry I continually hear.

Okay.  Then why don't we ask our friends to give us a hand with the 2 clusterfvcks we have in Iraq and afghanistan?

Why not?  It's a valiant effort to liberate a people form a dictator, right?  I am sure every nation on Earth supports our wonderful, selfless deeds there.

you're fighting for future oil reserves and strategic positioning.

No Iraqi citizen was taking my lunch money before you invaded.  And the only domestic attack, 911, well, Iraq had nothing to do with it.

I know there an Ally.  I just thought I had read somewhere that our relationship with Israel was unoffical or something.

Hey dumbass, quit skim reading..I keep your ass free by waking up each morning at 0400 and putting this uniform on. Simply the precense of our military keeps you free, I keep it even safer by deposing sadistic dictators like saddam so that they don't even attempt an attack where I have to fight from US soil.

Yeah I'm not sure on what constitutes an "official" ally, I just know we do all the maintenance and training on their fighter fleet for them
