I worked out at Golds Pacific Beach in San Diego during the 90's and Vic Richards would come in to work out as well as Nasser, Jim Quinn, and I did see Greg Kovacs in there on occasion when he was in town.

Vic was very big but nothing compared to Nasser when viewed side by side.

Kovacs looked like a big bag of shit tied together at both ends. Huge gut, very lean but looked as if he was filled with gelatin. His face was twice as swollen as Jay Cutlers and he seemed to be on so much GH that he was about to sprout a horn out of his head at any given moment.

The biggest guy offstage and in the gym was Jim Quinn. I know onstage he couldn't match up to some of the top guys but in the gym he was the biggest guy I have ever seen.

As far as personalities go Vic spoke to no one unless he knew you. Jim Quinn was a friendly guy and Nasser was very friendly as well as smart once you got to know him. He wasn't much for small talk but he was a good guy once he got to know you.

I met Greg Kovack and he was a big guy and muscular wise. His shoulders looked like they were blown up like baloons, I think Richards has him in muscle pound for pound (just by pics though). He looks as thick as Rosie Odonels cheeks...but muscle not blubber!

I met vic back in the day he was one big mofo...Why didnt he win the O????I believe he competed in some local shows and that was about it..He never turned pro....

Speaking of Jim Quinn, Whatever happened to him. IMO he was one of the first true mass monsters. He trained like an animal and seemed like a really nice guy.

I was wondering the same thing myself

If I recall, I think he suffered some kind of back injury. Not sure what happened after that

Last I saw Jim Quinn he was living in NYC with his girlfriend. Lost a lot of weight, looked smaller but healthy.

He had a neck injury of some sort that was exacerbated by a bad chiropractor.

Nice guy, very smart, well read..

Never had to win the Nationals or the USA or he would still be trying....pure speculation that he ever even got his pro card.

No hate, just stating the truth.....as for competing against him...please...he was never in contest shape.

Because the mystique would have been gone...and the never-ending debate of whether he would have been the next coming of Arnold, or a middle of the pack bust....would have ended with his 12th place finish. His name would have vanished in obscurity.

Smart man....If he never competes...he never has to live up to the hype.

That's because Chicerillo wasn't/isn't a citizen of Nigeria; therefore, he didn't compete against the subpar bodybuilders (relatively speaking) that Richards did.

It's a good thing that he didn't compete against Richards. Had he beaten Richards, it would have been temper-tantrum time.
