As I stated......

Dexter is no fool, and knows full well where his place in Pro BB is...in the IFBB with the rest of the best in the world.

The IFBB, where the best juice junkies do it Mutant style!  oh yeah, dig it!

John/Dave - Nice to hear you guys working together with Pro Bodybuilding Weekly albiet punking MadMax with the shared clip.

Dexter's response to MADMAX and Lee Priest:

"That's real funny dude."
"All bullcrap."
"I'm never leaving the IFBB."
"Lee Priest and I ain't even friends."
"So please let this lay down."

Dex is a humble dude on air and you can tell he wasn't too amused with the PDI comments.

Dexter ain't friends with anyone with his "attitude".

really...wow.  Man, that's shocking considering if Dex would have even said he kinda thought about it he'd pretty much kiss his career in the IFBB goodbye, I mean it's not like the IFBB has ever gone out of it's way to ruin guys who have gone againts them in anyway possible...like Gary Strydom or Aaron Baker or any of those old WBF guys.

simple fact of the matter:  Even if Dex thought about it admitting it would be career suicide.

the only person to blame in all of this crap is LEE PRIEST!!! no one else...... dave (madmax) and probodybuilding weekly both said that they came to that conclusion becuase of everything that was going on, and said "that in all fairness Dexter isn't here to comment on this" so they were pretty much re-stating or bringing up a rumor, not stating a fact

Ding ding ding!  We have a winner!  That's exactly right, when Lee wrote that a few weeks ago, we were all wondering if there was any thuth to this, then Dex came by the shop after the Arnold and the Australian Pro which kind of brough back Lee's statements to mind and after asking CC about it, he just told me the comment Dex had made to him before.  That's all.  The fact remained, Dex has never left, never publicly said he would leave and just competed twice this year already so I guess that's what matter, not what could have happen.  Still a pretty cool story.  I do appreciate the vote of confidence guys though.

Dave - why didn't you ask Dex about it when he was in your store instead of getting info second hand from CC?

That's a good question Lift.  To be honest with you, I think Dex would have told me the same thing as what he said on the show.  I'm not saying he did think about leaving but if he did, would he admit it now?  What I do know is what CC told me.  Why would Chris lie about that?  Anyway, like Dex said, it's all over now, let's just let it lie.

Im not quite sure what all the fanfare is even about...so...Dexter THOUGHT about going over? Hinted at it? Contemplated? Made mention of? Weighed his options.....?

WHATS THE BIG DEAL?

Bob you're not preparing for the Master's World and King hasn't posted his precontest shots. There isn't much to talk about in the world of bodybuilding. People are hungry for any story even when there isn't one.

I think the big deal is that some guys will now say "Dex was considering it?  He's a top 3 guy in the world.  He makes X and I'm only making Y.  If he's thinking about it, maybe I should..."

Or - conversely...

Most people don't casually leak things this huge to a fellow competitor unless it's for a reason.  Would you casually tell your boss' secretary that you were floating your resume to the competition?  Not unless you were politically witless (which Dex is not) or unless you were trying to send a message (and we all know dex's message after sitting out the O).

Either way, we're just kicking around ideas.  I'm sure someone can line up a nice interview to clear the waves on this little misunderstanding.

Bllshit...no one in the top 15 would remotely consider it...and least of all Dexter.

The one factor people are tending to overlook...is Lee. Why anyone would put an once of credability in anything he says is beyond me.....he also started the bllshit about Vince Taylor guest posing at some NABBA show...to which I talked to Vince, and he knew nothing about it, and did't know why Lee would even start such a rumor...

What's sad is, the only hype the PDI can drum up is making up stories about "top pro's" defecting..."you'll be shocked"...."Wait till you see...". blah, blah......were still waiting for this big news, and the mass exodus of wayward pro's to the fontain of Wayne.

If he "wouldn't remotely consider it" as you say, why did he tell Cormier that he was?

Pure heresay...who knows what Dex actually said to CC...or in what context. CC could have thought he said something else...who knows.

Sean Maloney summed it up as well as it could be.....

What would the incentive be for DEx to have even thought about it?

Coulda been anything.  We're talking about this situation with the statements we have in hand.  At the moment, heresay carries more evidentiary value than completely baseless theories like "CC could have thought he said something else".

Officer :)

Dex admitted he was very very very very very very very very upset at the outcome of the Challenge round.

...and as a result, you think he would have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of dollars and his career....to do what? Get back at the IFBB??

Give it up, bud...it's laughable.

The Challenge round was years ago and clearly over it. He will be competing in the Olympia this year. The guy said it himself he will never leave the IFBB and he's promoting his own NPC show. It's pretty clear Dex is loyal to the organization that helped provide a paycheck for him and his family.

Hey, I sure wouldn't walk away from all those dollars.  But you asked for incentive to *even think about it*.

Being embarassed like that in front of his family, friends, and fans by a lesser athlete, on the world's biggest stage, at what was arguably his lifetime best shape... that had to hurt.  The whole world saw him get punked, to put it mildly - his drop from 3rd to 4th was the story of the night.  Dex had to spend the next 6 months hearing about how great this chump was, and you know he didn't like that.

So do I think he would sacrifice his money and career to pay them back?  No.

Do I think it was enough incentive to talk a little trash to a bigmouth competitior in hopes that the message of "you burn dex again, you won't see dex again" reach the top?  Sure.

I agree dex is loyal and he is staying put.  Chick and i were tlaking about possible motives for him dropping subtle threats about leaving to a megaphone like cormier.

LOL.....The IFBB isn't dependant on any one individual, and has withstood the absence of even the great lee Priest after he went....The threat of "you won't see me again..." would only hurt one person...DEXTER.

Save the conspiracy theories for 911, Kennedy, Hoffa....

Of course they aren't.  But if #3 left, it sure might open the floodgates.  Come on Bob, you know I'm not trying to start a PDI/IFBB debate, as those are old and stale.  But if a top 3 guy left, it would be bad for business - agreed?

Save the conspiracy theories for 911, Kennedy, Hoffa....

It's no conspiracy theory.  You asked for what could be a motive to consider an action, and I gave ya that.

It's an interesting story, definitely nothing to downplay, even if it was just Dexter overreacting.
