One place political correctness does not belong and thats in the military.   Look, a majority of str8 guys would not want a guy in his platoon and thats reason enough not to allow them.  Morale needs to be at its best, in the name of political correctness is no reason to let gayblades in the military.

Nearly everyone in the military site the same reasons as you.  But it will not make much of a difference, in the end they are there already and changing the policy just stops the ridiculous "don't ask don't tell" policy.

Same crap argument as integration:   "Allowing blacks in the same barracks as Whites will hurt moral"

The military will get over it and move on.  Just as other armies have done in other countries.

The race analogy doesn't work.  Race is innate.  Homosexuality is not.  Objections to integration were based exclusively on racism.  Objections to homosexuality are based on a number of reasons, including religious-based objections.  There were no legitimate accommodation issues when they ended segregation in the military.  With homosexuality, you'll have to deal with living and shower arrangements, uniform changes, and changing the UCMJ.  I see a major upheaval if they just force this down the military's throats.

I don;t think we will see it as an issue even if the next pres is a democrat,  but the next democrat pres after that, assuming we are not in a major conflict, will certainly make it an issue.   That's just my prediction.  Because we are in a conflict, i don't think politically it will be prudent for a president.
