Do you use this type of injection procedure very often? I've never done it but I know a lot of people swear up and down that it is the best spot on earth for injecting.
Yes, I found it in a nursing text book @ 1/2 price books years ago. I hit there more than anywhere else. Uses Bigger part of the medius muscle than going dorsoglute. Just go in dead sideways, instead of reaching so far around back
and trying to approach @ 90 degrees from behind. (lat cramps

even for small guys)
Can be done easily standing (lift leg on inj. side to relax muscle).
The texts show locating by spreading fingers in a "V" resting index on Anterior illiac spine and spreading middle finger
far as possible trying to touch top of crest of illium. Shoot between the V formed w/ fingers.
(that description is not very possible DIY, but it gives you the spot)
The nurses usually do w/ patient lying on side at the Docs.
I'll see if I can load a pic from text sometime. Basically go in sideways, big soft painless muscle. I've NEVER aspirated blood here. I bet a big dude could easily throw 5cc of sterile oil there.
