Mustaine is way overrated IMO. Coolest thing he ever did was come up with the name of his band...Megadeth is a pretty bad ass name.
Yes they have some good songs, but nothing that shatters the earth.
Something that's always cracked me up and I'm glad you brought up Slayer cause it reinforces my point.
You talk to most other metal bands, read or see interviews, they will say Metallica was and is one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Even Slayer members say this about them.
That's all hearsay as far as I'm concerned.
KMFDM and PIG have given props to Trent Reznor but people within the industry and around the scene know that NIN sold out a long time ago and hasn't been true Industrial music for almost two decades.
Reznor is good for remixing and production work when he's doing it for other bands and he even gave PIG a release on his Nothing! label, but as a fan who is deep in this shit, Reznor is pretty weak..........kind of like comparing Metallica to SlaYer in terms of Metal.
NIN is for the X-Gen groupies who are trying to relive their past, because Reznor's artistic genius is in the past.

Pretty Hate Machine"........everything thereafter has been alt-rock shit with a gothic twist.
Industrial isn't goth.......meet a rivetchick and you'll see what I mean.
I like goth chicks and rivet chicks, but there's a huge difference between the two..........just as in Industrial and Goth.
