John is the best in history. I have told this story a few times on here. I met John in Denver at the 1st official Over The Top tournament. At the time I had never heard of him. I came in from Cal. and several others came in from the East Coast and I think John is from Utah or Idaho. Anyway, I think we met in the quarterfinals. I ended up beating him. Thought nothing of it. I ended up winning the whole event in the Super-Heavy's. John was a light-heavy competing in 3 weight classes. You could enter any class over your weight but not under your weight. Now here is the kicker.
There a dozen or so Over The Top events in the U.S. and several more than that around the world. We put these events on to get the people eligible for the Worlds in Vegas. Only the 1st place winner qualify for the world's. Plus, 1st place got $1,000 and 2nd place got $500. As the events went on I kept seeing Johns name in EVERY event. And in every event he took 2nd place in 3 weight classes. Till the last event. He then took 1st place in all 3 classes. John was so good he would take 2nd place, make $1,500 for the day, collect trophies and have fun. What he did was throw every event on purpose knowing he could beat everyone anyway. He is such a nice guy too. He does not weight train. All he does is armwrestle. He would stay 2 to 3 hours after pulling a whole day i an event and practice with everyone. He is awesome
