i stopped benching heavy because the serrated bar was bruising my sternum, then i stopped squatting because the bar was making my neck sore.  Now i just do flyes and leg extensions and eat lots of soy.

           Hope this helps  ;D

im syrprised by the ignorance of some Getsmallers. Flyes and extensions are also great mass builders.

I remember exactly what gym i was at and when i first benched 225 lbs then 315 lbs then 405 lbs

(on a 500 lb attempt i tore my pec)

225 took the longest.......i remember for years i just wanted to be able to put 225 lbs on the bench
by-myself, and bench it for a few reps (golds gym gloucester mass)

315 wasn't that long after i finally got 225 lbs (maybe a year or 2) (world gym beverly mass)

405-500 (nautilus plus danvers mass)...........i weighed over 300 lbs at the time

fun times with great training partners..............mi ss those days!

Mike, how much are you squatting these days?
Here comes the money shot

::)  yes, flyes and leg extensions will create epic mass when replacing bench presses and squats
