If top tier bodybuilders like Ronnie, Jay and a few others are making around 150 k a year. What do 2nd and 3rd tiers make?

What about the NPC guys? What's the point taking massive amounts of drugs and living a shitty life when you struggle to break even?

Wouldn't they be better off spending their drug money on an education? And if they're not the academic type, then why couldn't they just have picked a trade like plumbing or carpentry?

Something tells me competitive bodybuilders aren't really all that smart.

They pick that lifestyle because most of them are too fucking dumb to have taken a different route. Sad but true. Althought I do think some are pretty smart(Chick, Milos, Sean, Jay and some others).

One can be a professional, carpenter, cop or whatever and still bodybuild.

Still man it must suck. I bet most of them look back and think "Man, I shouldn't have taken this course!" Even guys like DA probably feel ashamed once in a while.

Bodybuilding is something I enjoy and love but I'd never be competitive. First, it's pointless. Second, the money in return for so much work is minimal.

I used to look at the mags in the news stands and think of bbing as some sort of fantasy sport. Browsing Getbig has exposed the truth to me and it's pretty sad.

People can have careers and still compete in the NPC. I don't question the fact that some NPC guys are dumb and delusional, but many also are well-rounded and have a successful like outside bbing.

Couple that with supplement contracts and it must be a very good sum. But these bbers probably live in the now. They spend thousands on drugs and food, and on trying to portray some sort of fantasy lifestyle.

Not everyone is like Ronnie or Jay. Tamali probably struggles and borrows money from mom and pop.

I would say that Mark Dugdale is currently the most successful bodybuilder. His current house is far more impressive than any other bodybuilders. Not to mention he runs a very successful food distribution business.

I think most bodybuilders are lazy. They eat, sleep, and train.

Others take the easy way out and mooch off their father-in-law....

Maybe altogether, with endorsements and whatever he may be doing on the side, he's making a million, but I find that hard to believe either way.
I'd say closer to 5-600k.

It's not about how much money you make. It's about making intelligent decisions in life. These bodybuilders use massive amounts of drugs and lie about fantasy lifestyles.

My point is that the avaerage joe shouldn't buy into any of this garbage. The reality of the competitive scene is something that's kept under wraps because they don't want people to find out how full of shit they really are.

problem with pro bb'ing is that it's such a fuccking expensive "sport" or "business" whatever you want to call it, the top 5 Olympia guys have to spend tens of thousands of dollars on drugs, food, supplements, tanning, etc. so the return on that investment isn't much even if you do with the 110,000 bucks for either of the top 2 shows.

Don't you get it? You're talking sense in a board that worships this type of behaviour. I've tried, and got flamed for speaking the truth. These people live for today, and for being "jacked".  They have no regard for their health, the law, their families, etc.
