Could be hurt... Look at papi with the sore quad. His power numbers are down this year. As well as pitchers not giving him anything to hit.

Manny seems to be having a off year also. Off for him anyway.

That whole situation with not hitting Pujols in the ninth inning last night was insane. In that situation who doesn't use Pujols? And it was his own manager that let him sit. Strange.

maybe he knows pujols has a small injury and didnt want to take the chance on playing him for only one inning and him possibly making some injury much worse that would affect his season( and cards).

not too uncommon for a player not to play.

I hear you, but then he should have not played and given another player a shot.  I think it may be more of a case of LaRussa being an asshole.

Not a player the caliber of Pujols in that specific situation. All Pujols would have done is batted, if he gets a hit they win, if he makes an out they lose. It was one at bat and nothing more.

I agree with Ape, this was a case of LaRussa being a balloon knot.
