I remember an article in MUSCLEMAG in the early 1990s from an anonymous Canadian BB who did an "expose" of steroids in Canadian gyms.  He said nobody really did much until Ben Johnson, & that popularized them.  But it was Benaziza's death that really galvanized the crowd.  They wanted to know what he was on before he died so they could double the dosage.  There is a death wish in some lifters, evidently.
