It's 8" siding on 4 gables.  Was white and I painted it (2 gables).  Dumb.  Now the lumps that we never saw before show up.

Gotta get new siding at least on the front gables now ::)  Husband says it looks fine  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Then it's not hardie plank most likely.  Not sure what would cause the lumps.  Might sound crazy, but you could run it by Johnny Falcon......  :-\

Didn't know he was knowledgable in siding stuff.  I thought he was mainly a skilled painter with broad knowledge in olive oil, reptilians and hoes?

Apparently it's the nails or something and the people that put it up (many many years ago) did a shoddy job.   My neighbor said to consider "cement board."  Have you ever heard of that?

Hardie plank is called "cement board" by a lot of people.  I suggest getting a professional to install it as its VERY difficult to cut and has to be installed properly to hold up.
