It was pretty good when I was there in 2002 and 2005. Prices were about 40-50% lower back then.

We stopped by there last month and the place was empty except for couple of patrons at the bar and two people in the bar booths. The main dining area was empty and so was the exterior dining area.

Looked depressing so we walked across to Rose Cafe and had something that was not too memorial.

I've ate at the rose, it's still there to this day I believe, it's just a different crowd, and was always busy so it was easier just to go to firehouse or fresh to go, fresh to go had some good stuff wasn't that expensive and was pretty good, these days the lifestyle of Los Angeles is super expensive, some people would eat breakfast and lunch at firehouse in the same day, today that would run you about 50 dollars

I went there about 3 years ago. Breakfast was very good and was not nearly as expensive as what it is today. I was the only guy there with any size on. That was the big surprise. It was a Sunday morning though.

i was in venice last month for a week.......i trained at gold's and then had my post workout meal there.

very good food.......i would usually have a buffalo patty and a yam....along with coffee....ice tea and orange juice.

the bill was usually around 18-20 bucks.......the buffalo patty was what made the meal expensive.

anyhow......the place was busy everytime i was in there........place still does a good business.

by the way..... gold's is still hopping......it was pretty packed every time i was there.
