Thanks everyone. She had ovarian cancer and I should pass on that if you ever have a post menopausal loved one who comes down with DVT (deep vein thrombosis) It is not uncommon for a woman with ovarian cancer to get DVT but apparently it's not something many doctors check. I cannot fathom why

Unfortunately I did my research to late. There are many stories on the internet of women who are diagnosed with ovarian cancer AFTER suffering from DVT. As the tumor begins to grow, it can block blood flow to the legs. Sounds like a no brainer

To make matters worse depending on the type of cancer, it can be hard to detect through standard cancer checks like the clear cell cancer type my mother had. Make sure you insist they directly check for ovarian cancer and flat out tell any doctor that says the connection is controversial that you don't give a rat's shit what he/she thinks is controversial. What the hell does it hurt to check when it's someone you want to have around for many more years. Please pass it on. I'll be doing much more research in the coming months and put together something that can be read and forwarded for awareness.
