Hit your glutes more.  I don't usually go all the way down, just below parallel for me.  Once in a while I'll go down deep to schock the quads.  Sometimes I do half reps very heavy too.

well it depends on what you mean with less extreme ones? (parellel, just below p, half etc etc)

hits the glutes, hamstrings and quads...the total package. and saves your knees.

im a believer in deep squats (deeper than parallel), not parellel ones..but i dont think you need to sit on the floor either.

Ass to calves squats.

They hit the hamstrings as well. A full range of motion.

Compare the legs of a powerlifter (squats to around parallell) with the legs of a Olympic weightlifter (squats all the way down all the time).

You'll see who's got the sweep, and the best leg development.

It sure as hell ain't the powerlifter.

im willing to bet 99,9% of all gyms dont have competive weightlifters and powerlifters.
but i take it you dont want to show pictures to support your statement and because of that the discussion is dead.
