Bodybuilding its a way of life?
« on: October 04, 2007, 09:45:05 AM »
Why is it that so many people on here want to talk so much shit reagrding every aspect of bodybuilding.  I mean come on this is bodybuilding we talking about.  so many time i see a man put down another for using gear, then i see another try to do it natural and they put him down, because he doesn't look as good as this guy or that guy.  The reason maybe different for each but on thing is the same we walk through the doors of the gym to train, be it your taking 5grams of test a week or you eat veggie burgers all day, that fact is we all share one thing in common we are all bodybuilders,  we get enough people talking shit about how we look or what we do outside this sport so why do we brothers need to talk shit to each other,  we all bust our ass in the gym, we love bodybuilding, if we didn't then why even come to a bodybuilding board.
So i am sure someone will post a stupid remark to this, but who cares,  if you love bodybuilding and enjoy the whole aspect of it then we should stick together and stop bashing on someone for what he choses to do, leave that up to the rest of the world to talk about.

I'm no fvckin bb.....all I do is lift weights for fun.   I also don't care about people who juice.  If they die at 40 or live to be 80 I could care less.....they make their own decisions and can do whatever they want to their bodies.

People usually get angry when they don't (or subconsciously don't want to) understand other people. They find it hard to accept that they are wrong. There are three kinds of people: there are the ones that accept the new facts, there are the ones that condemn the them and then there are the ones that don't accept the facts straight away, but eventually realize they were wrong.

I know this pretty well from my own experience, although my emotions didn't quite reach anger. It took me time, but I've learned that accepting new facts only helps you to see the reality.

True, but just like there are dickheads in the general population, they also exist within the subculture of bodybuilding.  Just because someone lifts weights doesn't mean he's a good guy, and bodybuilders are probably more narcissistic and selfish than most.  I know I am.  ;)

Still, it's a respectable pursuit when viewed as a vehicle that can take you where you want to go provided you put in the effort.  Some of the lunatic fringe even see a connection between looking healthy and actually living healthy.  The commercial side of "bodybuilding" is less respectable, being mostly marketed toward the teenage ILS boys who are buffed out at 30% bf.  ::)

Getbig flaming is what it is, like it or lump it.

The only people more narcissitic and selfish than bbs are beauty pageant contestants.....and isn't a bb competition just a glorified beauty pageant with the strangest difference being that at the end of the bb competition there's a far greater chance some of the bb competitors will die?

Yes, and with the exception of Miss New Jersey, there's also a greater chance that the winner of a bodybuilding contest will be involved in anal intercourse within the hour.
