Curb Feelers

So I was thinking of taking up parallel parking and think I should get some curb feelers installed for my new hobby.   :)    What kind should I get?  I have seen "spring" looking ones, and ones that look like a stick?

headboard feelers come in pretty handy sometimes too when you're first learnin how to sleep in a bed because otherwise you'll bump your head all night
