As far as I am concerned, I think not.  You can do it for quite a few days in a row but at some stage it catches up with you and you're forced to sleep like 10 hours one night to make up the deficit that has occurred.

that might be the trick though . . . keep yourself going until the pressure lets up and you can then catch up.

This is an excellent idea, I usually sleep about 6 hours mon-sat, then on sun, I sleep about 10 hours, perfect.

Everyone's genetics are different, and the amount of sleep required varies from person to person.  Six hours isn't enough for me to function properly.  Sure, I can do it for a day or two, but by day three I'm not functioning at my best and end up exhausted and fighting sleep in the early evening.  I do know people who do just fine on 6 hours (or less), but I require at least 7 - 7 1/2.

I require atleast 12-14 hours of sleep a night for maximum GH releases.

if you are awaken by your alarm clock you're not getting enough sleep.

Not always true, sometimes i wake up and im awake but i can't get out of bed and then i end up falling asleep for an additional 3 hours or so.

I sleep only six hours when work requires it.  But I try to catch up on the weekends, and short 30 minute naps (one or two/day) help a lot.  You can do a lot with a short nap.

6-7 hours is plenty.

With 5 hours, I feel like I could take on the world. Anything more, I feel drained.

I could sleep 8-10 hours a day if all I had to do was train and eat. With work I end up getting 6 hours during the week and (like others on here) I catch up on the weekend with 9-10 hours.

I think you CAN perform well on 6 hours sleep but you must catch up at some point.

they say if you take a quick nap during the day you can function just fine on 6.

some people swear by polyphasic sleep, which is taking 4-6 naps during the day of 15-30 minutes at a time and that's all the sleep you get. so basically a total of 2-3 hours a day, split up throughout. that's the extreme version anyway, another protocol is 2-4 hours for your "core" sleep and then three short naps during the rest of the day.

i can't imagine adjusting to that, but if it's legit then i'd imagine you'd be pretty damn productive if you have 20 hours available during the day instead of 16. of course, i'm not sure i could find enough shit to do to fill up 20+ hours a day.

Wouldn't having the ability to fall asleep 4-6 times in a day equate with being tired all the time?  If somebody saw you take 4 naps in a day they'd think you needed more sleep!
