Kimbo fight *Spoiler*

That was horrible!!! A soft elbow and the guy falls down and taps??? Every person who fought Kimbo on the streets was 100 times better than that loser. What a joke, makes me wonder if these fights are rigged too.

I just watched the fight(thanks Mark Kerr). Obviously Kimbo can't keep fighting cans like that, people will tire of watching him finish fights in 20 seconds. I am sure that org. has some decent fighters, but for the sake of argument lets assume Dana signs him. Who would make a good fight for him right now? I would love to see him fight Cro-Cop personally. Kimbo seems like he has heart, whereas CC is seriously lacking in that department. Maybe he and Brock Lesnar would be a good fight, but I don't see how Kimbo could fight Brock on the mat or Brock bang with Kimbo. Also, to me it seems an eventuality that Dana signs him, what do you guys think? Is he UFC bound?

he's not ufc material.

elitexc needs guys like him to sell tickets and create a hype so that fight might've been fixed for this purpose

He is one of the most popular MMA fighters in the world right now, even though he doesn't deserve it. He will make the UFC money. Unless he turns out to be a can, I can't imagine him not being signed. Dana pays Cro-Cop a fortune and he sucks.

well dana had other expectations for crocop... but if he lose again he might release him from the contract and crocop will probably end up with m1 or art of war or something

How about a Kimbo vs. CC match for a new contract? WWE style.

" Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson steamrolled his way to victory over Bo Cantrell in a mere 19 seconds. Cantrell quickly tapped after eating two shots that put him to the mat.

The crowd was not amused."

Patience!!!!! The guy has only had 2 MMA fights and you guys want him to fight Cro-Cop? He needs to keep fighting some "lower" level MMA talent before taking a step up. And when he does take a step up, it shouldn't be against a guy like Cro-cop. The guy is only like 33 years old. He has 5 -7 years of good fighting ahead of him!!

Lame. He obviously needs tougher opponents, these  20second fights are going to make him look indestructible, then when he gets in there with someone with talent, he will get his ass handed to him and everyone will be saying "but he destroyed all his previous opponents, what happened?"

PS That was without a doubt, the weakest elbow/punch to the head knock down I've ever seen, I'm calling "fixed"!!!

More on the Kimbo fight *Spoiler*
« Reply #11 on: November 11, 2007, 01:22:33 PM »
I got this from another forum. But it pretty much sums up this fixed fight up.

1. The first uppercut that everyone thought "rocked" Bo, hit him in the armpit. His shoulder was fine and no injuries have been reported.

2. The next punch hit him in the upper chest, Kimbos upper forearm hit Bo in the head.

3. The elbow that everyone said put him on the floor grazed his head. If you look at the GIF you can see his head barely even flinches when he is hit. It does not jerk towards the side or forwards. If a hard elbow like that really hit flush the persons head would bounce around a bit or at least jerk towards the oposite direction from the impact.

4. You can also see he put up no defense and did not try to protect himself from the eblow. Kimbo had all day to set it up.

5. Once the elbow landed Bo then dived on the matt and started tapping.

6. Bo was then hit in the back of the head as Kimbo pounced on him causing his face to bounce off the mat and put a red mark on his head. (not really Kimbos fault, he was following up).

7. Bo was not rocked. He had no cuts on him. He had almost no bruising. He was not injured.

Bo Cantrell simply did not want to be in there. He took the fight for the payday and probably knew himself he was going to throw the fight so he could get out as soon as possible. This is not Kimbos fault. If anything it cheats Kimbo from really proving himself. However all of the fanboys who say Kimbo is a monster and could knock out anyone in the HW division need to really shut up. Kimbo still has a lot to prove. It's a shame Bo went out like such a bitch. Kimbo is not "legit" yet. Hopefully they put him in there with Silva so we can see a good fight.

edit in: Oh and about the elbow.

If the Elbow landed flush on the side of his head to do enough damange to put him down, he would have at least a bruise. The side of Bo's head was not even red let alone bruised. Sorry but if you really get eblowed in the head by a 240 pound man, you will show visible damage from it.

People are impressed with Kimbo:

On a poll on mmanews the following question was asked:

Who were you most impressed with on the EliteXC "Renegade" main TV card?

K.J. Noons
 437
Kimbo Slice
 487
Jake Shields
] 99
Kyle Noke
 23

outta 1114 votes, 487 was most impressed with Kimbo!  :D

I believe Kimbo is the real article. To suggest there aren't other MMA stars right now that did not streetfight in earlier years is laughable. I think the reason some people like to rag on the guy is the other "things" he seems to represent. However, Bas has said he is a family man and a really nice guy with a great sense of humor. Kimbo's entourage is brutal I agree, however, Kimbo is the one guy stepping in and banging with anyone that it can be arranged with.

Couple that with obvious heart and skills he is a gifted fighter. As much as some people may disagree, having worked as a bouncer for years, it takes some serious sand to step up into a streetfight knowing you can get hurt and skills too to do well. Knocking someone out isn't easy.

The man backs up his talk (unlike most people), is a great student according to Bas, and if given the chance will fight anyone that steps up I would imagine. I hope he does well.

Did anyone watch the card on Showtime? I don't mean to steroetype but did anyone notice that Kimbo didn't sound like a ghetto ass hood when he spoke during interviews?? He sounded like he was actually educated.

Well, to a lesser degree.

Not taking anything from Kimbo, but my question is this.. How many of you have ever been in a real fight and hit someone bare knuckle with 2 good shots. I'm sorry but after watching a few Kimbo fights I'm curious as to how hard the guy hits.. I have hit a few guys in my day and bare knuckles on bare skin usually equals blood. I don't know I just haven't seen many fights where Kimbo hits someone bare skin and rips them open. That makes me wonder. Just a thought that came to me while reading this thread.

I hope not, Who in the hell would want to see that. How about Kimbo vs. Mike Tyson.. That is one I would pay to see. Get Tyson in to train with Randy since Kimbo has Bas.. That would be one freakshow I would pay to watch.
