California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER underwent a 20-minute standard medical procedure Saturday morning to remove the plate and cables used to help his bone heal from the surgery on his upper thigh bone last December. The minor surgery is a standard follow-up to the surgery the Governor had in December 2006. Governor Schwarzenegger is expected to return home this afternoon.
"Governor Schwarzenegger is in excellent health and there were no complications in this morning's successful follow-up medical procedure," said orthopedic surgeon DR. KEVIN EHRHART, who performed the procedure, in a statement. "The Governor has fully recovered from his initial surgery last December and removing the hardware is a standard practice. As is common with this type of procedure, he will use a crutch for just a few days."
