Ronnie deserved the win in … period … people who were a fan of flex had a hard time swallowing the fact … but all in all … Ronnie was wider, more muscular, leaner and more defined …

...also, Ronnie had a winning personality.  He had no issues with other BB's and with the industry.  He surely was a clean slate, and he really deserved it.  It wasn't luck.  Shawn Ray winning the title would be pure luck.

Ronnie did put on size between shows he was 255 and soft (for him) in 1997, and 247 sliced in 1998. Are you saying that in 1997 if he had dropped to 247 (only 8 pounds) he would have looked like he did in 1998? Bigger than Nasser far better than anyone else on stage and possibly better than what Dorian looked like in 1997?

No he put on size and then dropped even more weight to get ripped.

Ronnie easily won the 2001 pre-judging WTF the judges were looking at i have no idea. The video shows him killing Jay, the pics mean nothing.

He did NOT put on size he already had the size and in 97 to much and yeah if dropped weight in 97 and completely dried out in 97 he would look like he did in 1998 all he needed was that bone dry & rock hard condition which Chad helped him accomplish in 1998

and no Ronnie didn't easily win the prejudging in fact he lost it I watched the video and seen all the pics Ronnie didn't win anything he lost the meat & potatoes which is the pre-judging

He only "lost" the prejudging because the judges didn't notice him until the later callouts of the symmetry round.
Coleman was CLEARLY the most muscular, best conditioned athlete onstage that day.  Anyone that thinks otherwise is delusional or is buying Nasser's dirty clothing.

exactly my point.

remember we are dealing with one of the most ill-informed people on this board, becuase he doesn't use his head or his eyes - he only uses magazine text, and magazine text ONLY..

 ::)

ND owned Me for the 5 billionth time.  ;)

tell me ND, when are you going to start listening to everyone and get your head out of your stickly magazines for once?

 :-\

LMMFAO I'm owned because you're the idiot who thinks he put of size by losing size LMFAO you're a troll and an ignorant one at that lol that makes perfect sense he loses 8 pounds of fat & water and all the sudden he's put on size lol what a complete moron

moron pay attention to this quote

Peter McGough Flex Magazine August 2005

Personally, the best physique I ever saw onstage (there was a contender for best-ever that I saw offstage: those crazy photos of sock-footed Dorian Yates taken seven weeks before the 1993 Mr. Olympia) was Ronnie's at the 2001 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic. He was cut, full, trim in the waist and a monster (proving that when you're supersharp, you look superbig) at 244 pounds. Ronnie sporting that look would, in my opinion, be unbeatable and would make any criticisms as redundant as a chocolate squat rack.

" proving that when you're supersharp, you look superbig "

moron he did NOT gain any size from 97 to 98 he completely dried out and when you're supersharp you LOOK ( pay attention to this word MORON ) you LOOK superbig I always get a good laugh at how stupid you are , you like to type like you actually know something until I crush your stupidity

he put on a bit of size by dropping 8 pounds LMFAO he dominated Jay by losing the whole pre-judging lol 1998 Mr Olympia wasn't close just 3 points lmfao Dorian Yates lost the 1993 Mr Olympia to Flex Wheeler I mean seriously you're the biggest idiot I've ever encountered on a messageboard

No one isn't arguing he didn't win in 1998 but to say it wasn't close is retarded . and I'm talking about Hulkster's claim that Ronnie dominated Jay in 2001 by losing the whole prejudging thats an oxymoron , one doesn't dominate by losing

I will just give up because you don't understand that 255 not in shape doesn't mean more muscle than 247 in ridiculous shape but anyway.....

....if you are going to quote editors of magazines how about Johnny Fitness's take on the 1998 pre-judging and how Ronnie was overlooked in the first round which is why he only won by 3 points. He won rounds 2-4 with a perfect score, what, he changed so much between rounds?

Also Peter McGough is incredibly biased towards Dorian, i remember when Ronnie came in at 283 in 2003 he trashed him and asked what he was doing to gain so much muscle so quick (when previously he had just dieted down too much - so he didn't gain 40 pounds in a year - a concept you already have shown you don't understand) but when Dorian hit 257 in 1993 he just had more drive and focus than anyone else. Pure Bias.

No you can't grasp he didn't put on ANY size by dropping weight thats an oxymoron , size wasn't an issue for Ronnie he was 260 pounds by 1996 his main problem was overall great conditioning . I admitted at 255 pounds his conditioning was lacking hence why he dropped all the excess fat & water and came in supersharp in 98 but he didn't put any size in 98 just dropped weight that was hurting his conditioning , again one doesn't get bigger by getting smaller but he did LOOK bigger because he was sharper

This has nothing to do with editors it was to do if it was a close contest and judging after the fact it was the FINAL score which matter the most Ronnie beat Flex by just 3 points and thats all that matters , I'm NOT disputing the win , Ronnie was the winner but to say it wasn't a close contest is an outright lie

Where you're going with this is beyond me , I posted the quote NOT as a Dorian V Ronnie thing it has to due with the fact that when you're supersharp you LOOK superbig hence why Ronnie APPEARED big at 247 pounds than he did the previous year it was NOTHING to do with Yates , in the quote he says he thinks ( thought ) Ronnie was better how is that biased towards Yates? lol if anything it proves he's completely UNBIASED because if he was , he'd just say Yates is the best ever and never even mention Ronnie

And Ronnie was 287 in 2003 and he didn't trash him I have the editorial and he said that he thinks Ronnie went to lengths he shouldn't have in order to get to that weight and how he looked much better lighter , and the difference between Yates from 92-93 wasn't 40 pounds it was 13 pounds big difference ( no pun ) and Yates was already hards as nail in 93 at 269 pounds he just dieted away muscle he didn't gain any new  muscle pre sa he just didn't come in depleted like he did in 92 at 244 pounds

1996 Ronnie was right around his peak weight his conditioning was hit or miss because he competed in so many contest seven in 1996 and eleven in 1997 thats a heavy toll on conditioning

yes you can. it called poor judging.

 ronnie lost on paper only.

not in reality. watch the video. look at the pics.

sometimes, the scorecard does NOT match up to the real life contest.

see a million examples throughout the history of our sport.

well, its true.

every time ND comes on to threads like this and spouts his bullshit based not on reality, but some quote or some notion he has that is not verified by anything concrete (visual) in the sport, not only do I correct and expose his bullshit, but many others do on a regular basis as well.

its happened so many times in so many threads lately.

everyone is sick of his misinformation.

Your stupid opinion always contradicts the FACTS I've looked at the pics and video and the contest reports , and your opinion based on looking at pics and video lead you to the conclusion Dorian lost the 1993 Mr Olympia LMFAO what do you know again? by looking at the pics and video you also came to the conclusion Lee Labrada has crappy abs and calves , and Matt Mendenhall is blocky lol again I ask what do you know? your opinion ALWAYS contradicts the professionals who were live and in attendance this is a sign of your stupidity , oh lets not forget Ronnie DOMINATING the 2001 Mr Olympia by losing the whole prejudging and Dorian LOSING the 1994 Olympia by winning with almost straight 5s and the second place guy admitting he got the place he deserved  ;) these are just a few examples of the conclusions you reached via pics & videos do you really need me to expose your stupidity anymore?  ;)

You've done NOTHING except contradict reality , again how did you correct anything? answer the question and DON'T RUN like you always do

How did Ronnie put on a bit of size from 1987 to 1998 BY dropping weight ? you're a complete fucking idiot who doesn't know the first thing about competitive bodybuilding . it was me who corrected your bullshit not the other way around

Ronnie 1997 255 pounds , Ronnie 1998 247 pounds . how did he put on a bit of size? he didn't plain & simple he dropped weight and completely dried out I crushed your ignorance and what do you do? make up some bullshit excuse about how you can't believe what they say there weights are lmfao

and stop trying to act like ' everyone ' is sick of my ' misinformation ' stop speaking for the masses , this is another of your weak ploys , you often speak for the ' bb community ' lmfao the height of stupidity , and you and the ' bb community ' are always contradicting facts , 1998 wasn't even close lol Ronnie was put on size in 1998 by dropping 8 pounds LMFAO thats not misinformation thats a fact , try backing up your claims with them for once lol oh thats right you can't.   ;)

Ronnie won his first olympia because he hooked up with "the chad".  Any other explanation is bullshit.  Ronnie was getting improving at a pretty incredible rate in 95-96, he went from also ran in the very early 90's to winning a couple of pro shows and placing pretty well at the olympia.  He looked INCREDIBLE at the 96 NOC, striated quads....just great.  I dont' know his weight at that show vs. the 97 Arnold but I'm pretty sure he put on some size just couldn't dial it in and placed 4th, hooked up with Chad and was almost another BB by the time the olympia rolled around.  chad kept him on course for his first few olympia's and his 01 Arnold win.

Ronnie's previous best-prior to 97 would not have won an olympia, he would not have been able to beat Kevin, Flex, Nasser or Shawn at that show-in his previous best condition....he won cause Chad dialed him in perfectly.

Ronnie was clearly the best the first 6 yrs. He got older and kept lifting heavy a$$ weight when he should have just done detail.  He would have had his 9th and none of those tears.  Still a strong Mofo, and best ever.
