I know it's hard to see legends fall.  I hope they do come out hardcore.  In reality though this new cd will go over as good as a Art Garfunkel solo album.

I agree in a way.
A lot of metal and hard rock bands from the 80s and 90s did well to stop.
You need hard core bad ass guys not geriatrics on stage.
Once guys from a metal band are in their late 40s the shelf life is over, the game is up.

bullshit.

More than once here with the local bands I used to go watch in the 1980s they look terrible on stage.
Even a Michael Jackson show I saw last year on TV he could not get the moves quite right any more.
Another band could not hit the notes LOL
It does not mean they where not great but they should know when to stop going on stage.
If you sing ballads, country and western or that kinda crap you can carry on till you die, but metal................... ......... nah!

im actually surprised a lot of those bands still as good as they are. i doubt people would say rolling stones shouldve stopped in when they were in their 40's. (mick jagger is 64) judas priest both live and on record sounds surprisingly good. so does motorhead (lemmy is 62). danzig (glen is 52) the list is long.

hell even a rapper like ice t will be 50 next week  :D

OK you have me convinced on a few of the bands, but I have also seen many that should have stopped  :)
Hell is ICE T nearly 50?
That is also a suprise

well there's probably a bunch of bands that should've stopped... especially if they fuck up memories you got of what theyve used to be like  ;)

most important thing is the voice, if the lead singer still got the voice most other stuff can be fixed IMO... rob halford might not be able to reach the high notes he used to but he's still good enough... lemmy kilmister probably sounds like he always has... maybe even better with the more whiskey he's drunk since he was in his 40's  :D im surprised they tour as much, they tour europe every year since 70's... iron maiden they're going on i think their biggest world tour yet... and that crazy fucked bruce is flying the plane himself as if being the lead singer wasnt hard enough he does that after the shows...  :o

ozzy might not be what he once was... but was he ever that active on stage? fans would still go to see him even if he was 100 years old...

I thought I read Metallica was working with Rick Ruben this album? If so, I hope he takes them back to their roots...what made them.

They are still good musicians, their last work sucked bad. The last cool thing they put out was S & M.

Even if they wanted to make an album like the Early 80's and Rick Rubin holds a gun to their heads. James Hetfield can't sing/scream like he used to and they don't have Cliff Burton. Fuck Metallica anyway, the led zepplin of metal aka token band that everybody makes for a safe metal choice.
