"Best" based on what?  There are any number of factors that contribute to the desirability of a place to live, and some cities rank higher on some things, some cities rank higher on others.  It really depends on which of those factors are most important to you.

The town I grew up in (my parents and sisters still live there), North Haven, CT, was recently voted amoung the "Top 50 places to live in US" by US News & World Report, I believe

I'd like to move to AZ or Texas when I have the money. Chicago sucks.

I cried when I left. Got in a bad car accident when I was driving back home....if I didn't have 3 years of rehab, my originalk plan was to stay there.

I'll miss the food but not the cold weather or corrupt politics (assuming the place I move to is better).

Is John Dayley still mayor (don't know If I spelled his name correctly...)....he was when I graduated 18 years ago....and I think he took over when his father retired as mayor after serving many, many years.

Maybe corrupt, but it seems the people love him and keep electing him....

Richard Daley and yes he's still here. Now he's trying to fight to keep the Chicago handgun ban in effect.  ::)

Knew I was off on the name.

Wow, that is like a lifetime job for him (and his family!)

Well I may be bias but I have lived in some really nice places and grew up in a really nice area.  Have always lived near the ocean till now I am in Vegas.  But I still love Hawaii.  The weather is perfect, the people are perfect, the food is awesome, the scenery is to die for.  People save their whole lives to go to Hawaii for a week just so they can experience "heaven" while they are still alive.  It will be where I end up when I am all done with everything.  You just can't beat Hawaii

The problem with Hawaii is it's so isolated.  Nothing important in the world really happens there, and you can't go anywhere without it being a major trip in terms of time and expense.

I'm from Chicago and it definitely does not suck.

Mayor Daly still is in office and his corruption keeps the city moving. Chicago is the cleanest big city in the US because of him.
