i think the picture Jason posted squatting 900 pounds pretty much puts this argument to rest.

strongest does not mean hardest trainer.

similarly, hardest trainer does not mean SMARTEST trainer.

if i wanted to i could murder myself in the gym five days a week for two hours at a time, vomiting and bursting vessels every workout. doesn't mean i'd improve at all, it just means i'd look "hardcore". a lot of top level guys do surprisingly little work because they have their training down to a science.

topl level guys have drugs downt o a science. there's no substitute for hard work for a natural who didnt win the genetic lottery !

today i did a total of 37 sets for legs and calves!

then i thought enough is enough and called it the day
Yeah, 37 1-rep sets would be a good day for you.

Rockstar.  Tom Platz quivers in my presence. LOL  I dont know.  Im no bodybuilder, so its hard for me to say.  They dont look like toothpics, but theyre not huge either...I think theyre 29-30" or so if I had to guess.

::) i've seen your training journal on the other board which includes a massive 355 for sets of 3 on the squat, care to retract your statement?

depends on your definition of "hard training". Squatting 900 is definitely hard training, but doing multiple grueling sets of squats with little rest is also hard training.

no way.

Squats, pick 50-60% of your 1 RM and do 3 sets of 15 with 90-120 sec rest.

Just 3 sets, and tell me its not hard training ;D

you cant be working out that hard with all the supposed sets you do. right mentzer?

training is about being progressive, training smart...and hard ENOUGH. not the hardest.

hope this helps

not as hard as putting 900 pounds on your back and descending with it, not by a long shot.
