matt C,
We can control what we see of the world in our heads, correct? If I ask you to close your eyes and pretend you're the King of France for 10 seconds, you can close your eyes, forget the world, and you can believe you're the King of France.
Some people can do this for a lifetime. They have the ability to create their own reality. If Zone can be a comic book character for 10 seconds, why not 10 years? If the man has created a better world for himself to live in - real or otherwise - I say all the power to him.
I just dug this up where he admits to exactly what I was talking about (heavy comic book readership while growing up):
http://www.zonecapone.com/ODDBALL.htmI also read a lot of comic books while growing up and Thunder Bay has the luxury of having one of the best comic book stores in Canada, "Hill City Comics":
http://www.hillcitycomics.com240 - how are the comic book stores in Sweden? Do they have a wide selection? Do they carry the "Tales from the Crypt" series of comics? Discuss.
Anyway, to respond to your post, I don't think it's a problem that Kennet wants to live life in a comic book but it is because of that that he is so reckless in the gym. He puts himself at such great risk for injury because in his "Zone Capone" state he genuinely believes he is either invincible or close to it and therefore either not susceptible to injury at all or prone to fast recovery. At times like that, realism would serve him a little better than fantasy does.
When I want fantasy, I just browse musclemayhem. Which I have done maybe 10 times in the past three years.
