WWE Star John Cena Now With Ultimate Nutrition?
« on: July 28, 2008, 07:07:50 PM »
I was on the Ultimate Nutrition website and noticed that WWE Star John Cena is listed as doing store appearances on their behalf.  I thought he was with ABB but checked their website also and I guess he was cut!  I didn't see any notices that he was cut by ABB or that Ultimate had signed him.

If the guy was able to increase sales of supplements so well then why did ABB piledrive his contract when they had him? I think wrestlers give no credibility to supplements for those that are seriously committed to building their physique. Sure they're famous but so is Michael Jackson.

That would be a question that you would have to ask ABB as Ultimate Nutrition is very pleased with him.
And if you don't mind please ellaborate on how wrestlers give no credibilty to supplements.

Did ABB fire Cena? Perhaps, Ultimate Nutrition simply bought out Cena's contract with ABB.

Something similar happened in the 90s with Mike Francois. For two years, he was with Champion Nutrition, particularly hyping its MET MAX supplements. Then, he ended up with Weider. I later read in MuscleMag, that Weider bought out Francois' contract for $100,000 to get the 1995 Arnold Schwarzenegger Champion to jump ship.

Yes, there are quite a number of possibilities, including something as simple as maybe Cena's contract was up and Costello decided not to use him further, or maybe UN offered him more $$.

But don’t assume that just because he’s no longer with them that ABB brass “fired” him.
Most pro wrestlers nowadays are intelligent people with good business acumen. And if they’re not, they usually have an agent who is – especially the bigger names.

It's all business.
