they know all the other MMA junkies are gonna buy it regardless of the hype or whatever spin they put on it..

Couldn't bring you Fedor v Randy, so this will have to do.  And like it was mentioned, Brosnar will prolly draw the FNG fan.  I stopped by Xtreme two days ago, that place is awesome.  I saw Mike Pyle, Hitman Kampfman, Alessio working out on the weights.  Ron Frazier was taking some guy through a mits routine in the cage, Thompkins was taking a guy through a thai pad routine in the ring.  They let me take pics of the place, and I got to meet Randy and Kim.  Vinny M was coming in, at 1-4 Randy and the guys work out, and there is no cameras allowed.  (Wandy, Forrest, Trigg, Whitehead, were supposed to be there).  If you are ever in LV, check it out.

Finally...someone with some sense :)

This is an interesting match up, but I could not agree more. It is hardly the biggest fight in MMA history. It will bring in a crowd, but IMO Brock really has nothing more than a lucky puncher's chance.

Brock will come out full speed, rush Randy, possibly even take him down, and then Randy will take over from there. Guaranteed, Randy will submit him.

It is hardly the biggest fight in MMA history.

Depends how you measure it. Money wise? I'm pretty sure it is...

what i dont understand is dana has all these good fighters willing to fight 4 times a year and he creates the crappiest fight cards.

why not make the fighters fight 3 months in a row if not injured and create good cards instead of making 2 good fights in a year. mma is starting to get boring with shit fights. you cant have wandy or chuck liddell or silva forever you might aswell milk them for all there worth while they can still draw or better yet when they are still young

When this fight was announced, I said this would be the UFC's biggest PPV. Since then, the stock market crashed and the economy tanked. Now, I'm not so sure. People might not be as quick to drop $50 on a PPV.

Vegas, especially, is hurting. It's the epicenter of the housing bust, and leads the country in foreclosures. A multi-agency government task force has been created to investigate the widespread fraud that took place during the boom. Most of the casino stocks have dropped 90%, with the Sands (LVS) on the verge of bankruptcy.

You gotta think the Fertattas are feeling some pain. Don't think any fighters will be getting pay raises anytime soon.

Biggest in terms of hype and media attention. You have two big names fighting. Like it or not WWE has a huge fanbase so it will more then likely attract some of their fans. So if you take that into consideration ity could possibly be huge from a monetary standpoint

You got that right.  I just got back from LV, and this was the SMALLEST SEMA show I have been to.  The strip is DEAD.  I loved it, but it can't be good for the hotels/casinos.

I've spoken to a few people who have recently been to Vegas. They all say the same thing. I don't know if that town will ever be the same, having massively overbuilt into the worst housing bust ever. Now, you have a vicious consumer recession underway. Middle class people just aren't gonna have a grand to blow on a weekend in Vegas.

If I'm not mistaken, the Fertattas casinos cater to a more local crowd, many of whom have watched their home equity go down the toilet in the past two years. Don't be surprised to hear about UFC cost cutting measures in the near future.

Back to Brock and Randy....

Did anyone see that Randy is not really much shorter then Brock. There is now not a doubt in my mind that Randy will take this.
Lesnar is a cool guy, and the future of  being a heavyweight champion in the UFC....but just not yet.

I think Randy looks to small to really test Brock, like Brock said Randy hasn't had to push around anyone as big as him. 275 is a lot of weight to push around for that long. Plus none of  the guys that are bigger then Randy have been as athletic as Brock.. It will be good no matter what.

Being small is Randy's advantage. And it's a definite advantage. Randy trains with guys Brock size. Maybe not as talented, but I am sure he has multiple game plans for Brock.

Good fight for sure. It will be an ass kicking one way or another. If Randy can't get it together, I will admit, he is going to get crushed. And Brock will humiliate him. Brock has everything to gain tonight on his performance. If he losses or wins, as long as he fights a good fight he will be the winner.

I agree that Brock is the winner no matter what. If Randy wins then he beats the overhyped White Kimbo Slice. If he losses then he was to old and knew that he wasn't going to win. I think that Randy being small will be good for him because he will be faster, I just don't know if he has enough to test Brock's chin now. I just look at the last time he looked like what he does, it was against Liddell and he went to sleep.. He is of course bigger now, but same body look (tall and gangly)... I just fear that Randy might get beat into retirement, if Brock GnP's him he could really hurt Randy, cause you know Randy isn't going to tap due to a beating...

Cpt. America will be in my prayers tonight.

i was watching their big hype-up thing last night and kept laughing when his team was talking about the sylvia fight and "everyone thought he was going to get stomped". please, how many people turned on the couture/sylvia fight and HONESTLY thought couture was going to get wrecked? if anything, the fact that it went 5 rounds was a credit to sylvia. everything i saw was acting more like "finally the heavyweight division is interesting again".

couture is NEVER the underdog. anyone acting like this is a chance for randy "underdog" couture to come out of retirement and be the only man to stop big brock is just being dumb. brock has almost nothing to lose with this fight. as long as he doesn't get KO'd in the first round he's proven he's the real deal for anyone who doubted him after the herring fight.

Like many, I'm hoping this fight ends with Randy having to be pulled off a bloodied and beaten Brock.
