victim of identity theft
« on: November 26, 2008, 03:32:27 PM »

ok so someone opened up a creditcard under my name and racked up a bill of a few thousand dollars. its ok now because i was informed by my credit card company and everything will be reversed. my credit is not going to be affected, i do have credit protection. my question is how did they recieve the card? they had to have had the card recieved somewhere right. what do they use an abbandoned house or something? they cant just sit out in front of the house and wait for it right?

Probably just stole a credit card application from your mailbox or your garbage can.
Or maybe you're one of thousands that share the same name and you were the unlucky one to get hosed.
