Very hard.

Quick too. Not the typical "bb'ing style cardio", but worth a shot. Next time i cut i will do a mix of HIIT and low intensity cardio.
No doubt about it...

Pros would die of heart attack at the first attempt of HIIT.

HIIT is awesome, results are better than anything else I have tried.

You have to make the adjustment to the demands, once you do it's faster and at least the same results as lower intensity for longer periods of time. When i do HIIT then go back to longer cardio my endurance has increased.

Same thing as lifting with higher intensity using less volume; more work is done in less time.

???

HIIT is ok, but 4x4 (Warmup->4 minutes @ 80 to 95 percent of mx heart-rate->3 min active rest-> repeat the preceeding 3 more times) is probably better for athletic purposes.

I have never listened to it. I just saw the title and thought it fitting.  ;)

All Cardio is a inefficient if its purpose is to "lose bodyfat".

It should be used to rejuvenate and sustain the respiratory system.

As someone who has recently decided to become a Pro Bodybuilder, let me add my two cents.  I think my good friend Bobby Chick has the right idea with low intensity steady state cardio.  It's what we feel is best to prevent muscle wasting. ;)

Please.........Chick's tubby ass couldn't sprint up his driveway without gassing out.  Say what you want about HIIT but if done correctly is very effective at sparing muscle and losing fat.  But it can lead to overtraining if abused.  That's the problem with bodybuilders they have no clue what moderation is.  If this is effective well shit I can do 10x as much and it must be even more effective.  With dieting, drugs, and proper training cardio as far as losing fat and gaining muscle is useless.  The only point of cardio is keeping yourself in half way decent "shape" cardiovascularly speaking.  I see the same old people day in and day out month in and month out on the treadmills because they think steady state cardio is so effective at burningn fat.  Especially women.  Meanwhile the women that are lifting weights or atleast doing circuit type training and miles away ahead of them in the fat burning department.  Women idolize the fitness/toned type female physique but they train to look like a runner.  Makes no sense to me.

Guys like chick do that because it's easier IMO, but ponderous and often boring in terms of time. If you're ready to make some serious effort it's a lot faster to get it out of the way with higher intensity.
