I use straps on all of my back work – even the lighter sets.
I feel it allows me to use more back and less biceps.

I think you should develop a good grip and only use them on your heaviest lifts or towards the end of your workout as your grip begins to fail.

Like someone else said, only towards the end of the workout when your grip affects the weight you can use.

He is 100% right as far as im concerned and I cant stress this enough, I started using them for deads and just continued using them for just about all back exercises a while back and now my back strength has gotten to the point that i cant do the majority of my back work without straps b/c i used them all the time and my grip strength didnt progress with my back strength, LOL now i look like a puss b/c i pretty much have to use straps for everything back related with the exception of chins..

for deads with overhand grip- yes. everything else- no. Unless you have unusually small hands i think you should have a strong enough grip for all back exercises, excluding overhand deads ofcourse.

If you are a bodybuilder,yes!!

If you want grip strenth,no!!

If you are a bodybuilder, use them as often as you need to as your grip will give out long before the muscles of the back will.......much heavier weight and more reps = more growth.

Work grip and forearms on a seperate day....no brainer!!

I also use straps on all back workouts because I feel it less in my biceps when I use straps

x 2

Can use more weight, do more reps and feel it better, using thumbless grips.
