The only thing that keeps me from confronting this individual is my wife.  That and I want my freedom.  There will come a day though where they will have to face the consequences just like I am now.  Karma is a bitch.

Windsor, do you have clean record or previous "issues"? this can be a major influence on the case

also get a good lawyer, hopefully you can afford one, and as others have stated don't take the plea deal until push comes shove. fight, fight , fight and they will offer a better deal

Sometimes you gotta plead guilty though

Remember that is also benefits counsel on both sides, in order to reduce the number of trials by jury/judge. If everyone decided that they wanted their day in court, the backlog would be decades (like in India) and the costs enormous so they tell almost everyone to take a plea, even tho some would probably be successful in being found not guilty.

I don't like going to work and paying taxes either. But I do. Maybe the laws are strict? Common sense should keep people from making such unwise decisions. My friend a Chef in Thailand taught me that there's signs all around us telling us right from wrong. We just have to take our head out of our asses to see them. Straighten up and fly right.

I was facing two years in jail in 2007 for assaulting a police officer and some other nonsense charges.  End result, not guilty on all four charges.

My advice: don't take a plea.  But better yet, get a good lawyer and take his or her advice.

In all types of legal matters, the police, crown attorney [DA in the USA], or citizen charging you will always grossly overcharge in cases they know they cannot prove. This is done to obtain leverage for possible plea scenarios. Understanding some of the unofficial workings of the law like that are beneficial to anyone going through the legal system.

In Ontario, you would likely not see a courtroom for under two ounces of marijuana.  Judges openly refuse cases that are that petty.

I remember this. This the case where Special Ed gave you a bunch of free legal advice that helped you keep your milk-white ass out of jail and you 'repaid' him by running downs Jews, denying the Holocaust, and talking about how 'they' were ruining the world economy - all whilst using another Jewish guy's site to do it
