With the confirmation of Mirko's return at UFC 99, my mind is already racing ahead of his fight with Mustapha Al-Turk to other possibilities.  People are right to say he's not the guy we once knew, but at the same time, is everyone positive that Frank Mir would beat Mirko CroCop?  I know I'm not.

Fights with Shane Carwin, Pat Barry, Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos, Randy Couture, and Brock Lesnar all sound interesting to me.  It's easy to forget guys like Velasquez don't have many fights, and despite their physical advantages Mirko is still a very tough fight for young heavyweights.

To be honest, the prospect of Mirko making a run at the title is far from impossible.  Consider: does Mirko have a chance at beating Al-Turk, Shane Carwin, and Frank Mir in succession?  I think the answer to that is yes.  He's lucky to be in the weakest division around, and I'm excited to see what comes of this last run at glory for Mirko

If (and thats a big IF) he comes 70% of what he used to be, he will fight for the title with easy and soon...To really become champion, no more than 85% of his old self is required. Thats not 'that' difficult, but who knows...

i just think it's hard to put a % of how one was fighting..

just seemed that he was taken out by gonzaga, and then Kongo...  and without doing much about it...

don't get me wrong...  i'd LOVE to see Crocop they way he used to be..  i just think he's a bit past his prime.

Mirko was a big embarrassment of the Pride guys to come into UFC...he should stick to fighting the bullshit cards in Japan like Dream and all that crap...he's done, is a shell of his former self. I realize now when he won the OWGP it was all luck.
Something like  that will never happen again, it was once in a lifetime.

IF he comes in 80% he could easily take on the the entire ufc but that is a very big IF.

if having your testicle removed because of fighting doesnt get you fukn angry and motivated to ktfo anyone who is standing opposite you in the ring or cage then he should just stick to being a counter terrorist and killing 3rd world terrorists
