So fellas I just got back from the first of many I hope of covering the latest show in the list of CCF fights. Man was it exciting, you guys can check them out at XFSTV.com and can even sign up for free to watch some of the fights. These fights as well will be shown over there. Hope you guys enjoy and this shit is worth the read!

Tons of great fights and they set the Amatuer MMA record for most weight in a fight with over 800lbs. Read up!

Alright so last night we were invited to witness one of the best MMA shows that I have seen put on in Boise. The event took place at the Qwest arena in downtown Boise. If you have never been down to a show at Qwest and you’re in the Boise area it is a must. The arena is perfect for MMA and the place doesn’t have a bad seat! The event was CCF XVIII (18). The event was scheduled for 12 fights with 3 championships belts on the line and a Super Heavy Weight Fight that set the national record for most weight in the ring, so we were looking for a good card and that’s what we got! Sean Roberts and Kasey Thompson took great care of us and not only built one hell of a show, but also made sure that it ran smooth. I got to give these guys a round of applause as well as their crew for running a great show. No stalls, or huge time delays, and the card was stacked. A+ on the scorecard from us.

So enough about the event, let’s talk about the event! The night opened up with an exhibition fight of two kids. My guess is that they were 9-11 years old. I didn’t get a chance to get the spelling of their names as they were not on the program but if I misspell my apologies their guys. The kids were Junior Algarado and Marcus Mcwhitey, I caught Algarado’s weight at 120 lbs and he was a big kid. Mcwhitey on the other hand was a smaller kid and tall. These guys went the distance of all three rounds and though Mcwhitey did dominate the fight from my view, these kids both had a lot of heart and it was awesome to see the young fighters of tomorrow at such a young age displaying sportsmanship. Both kids were throwing punches though Mcwhitey got the better of Algarado; the best part of the fight was Mcwhitey’s numerous attempts at spin kicks. The kid had a barrage of them. Congrats to the young guys and I look forward to watching them again!

The lights dim, the fog machines are spewing solid white mist in front of the fighter entrance, music begins to pump from the arenas sound system and folks it’s SHOWTIME!

Hinkle vs. Castillo

1st Round

First fight of the night was Justin Hinkle vs. Jordan Castillo. Castillo looking to be the bigger of the two, Hinkle looking to be in better shape though. They both come out touch gloves and Castillo swinging right off the bat. Castillo lands a leg kick, then there is some space and they both feel each other out. Castillo decides to shoot in on Hinkle and Hinkle defends, they end up in the clinch and both fighters are trying to land knees to their opponent’s mid-section. Castillo goes to the ground from a low knee, and the crowd boos loudly. Castillo has five minutes to recover due to the low blow.

And the fight is back on. Castillo throws a leg kick and Hinkle responds with one of his own, but Castillo catches and takes him down to the ground. Castillo ends up in full mount, but Hinkle rolls him over and throws a blow to the back of the head that wasn’t caught. Castillo attempts a triangle, but Hinkle shrugs him off and begins to throw hammer fists. Castillo squirms out and they end up in North/South position and Hinkle is throwing punches. Hinkle into side control and passes to mount and Castillo tries to press out of it, but Hinkle maintains position. Hinkle with another fury of punches, it looks like Castillo is trying to get out the backdoor, but Hinkle maintains control and continues with the short rapid punches. Castillo breaks free and they’re on their feet. Castillo looks tired from the punches. Hinkle comes in with more punches and Castillo’s nose is bleeding. Castillo is being hit with a combo of punches from Hinkle and this doesn’t look good, but somehow they are back on their feet. Hinkle attempts to stomp on Castillo while he is on the ground and the ref has stopped the fight as kicking a downed opponent is illegal in the state of Idaho. They allow the fight to continue and the round ends.

2nd Round

They come out and touch gloves, Castillo switches up his stance and sticks Hinkle with a stiff jab. Castillo is having to breathe through his mouth as his nose is gushing enough blood to affect his breathing; it might be broke. Castillo lands with some serious shots and Castillo gets the takedown. Castillo gets a guillotine and it’s sunk in and Hinkle is holding and on and it’s over Castillo wins by submission guillotine choke.

Winner Jordan Castillo by guillotine choke 0:51 seconds into the 2nd round!

Kaps rolls Acres over and ends up getting top control. Kaps gets into side control, lands a couple of forearms to the face of Rowdy. Kaps gets full mount and Acres gives up his back again. Great fight so far, these guys are working the whole time, lots of action!

Rowdy comes out and lands some shots and Rowdy grabs Kaps in the clinch and lands some knees. Kaps pulls Rowdy down to the ground and tries to pull guard. Rowdy lands some punches from top, Rowdy lets him up and wants it on his feet. Rowdy rushes in and lands some punches, Rowdy has him hurt and they end up against the cage throwing some hands. Kaps with a nice right. They end up back on the ground; this seems to be where Kaps wants to keep the fight. Kaps is going for some type of ankle lock or knee bar and Acres is just throwing punches onto Kaps ribs, and Rowdy is up and landing punches to the side of Kaps head. Kaps still has the leg and ends up letting go and pulling guard. Rowdy lands some punches from the top, the bell rings and that’s the fight. Kaps was not doing much the last 30 seconds of this fight, but blocking and eating punches while in guard.

Next fight is the girl fight; I was so jacked for this fight. These girls wanted to bang it out as soon as they saw each other!

Shiely Perez vs. Kristie Doss

So Perez came out and who ever hear corner man was all I can say is WHOA! This dude had some serious speed with his hands when he was shadow boxing and I was impressed, so I thought that Perez would be a great boxer. Then out came Kristie Doss with none other than who? Kenny Keene, “Idaho’s Top Gun”. I thought to myself, man are we in for a treat! Bell Rings and the fight starts

1st Round

They come out and touch gloves. Doss comes out and lands early, but Perez answers back and Doss with a 3 punch combo. Doss comes back in swinging and eats two punches from Perez. Perez has a seriously evil look on her face; she is smiling with a glare at doss. It looks like she is really enjoying this. Both women throw some punches, a lot of punches being thrown, but not landing. Oh but Doss lands with a right. Perez lands with a left jab. Perez still with a huge smile on her face, Doss is throwing punches but not landing and Perez lands with 3 big shots and the crowd is loving it. Doss looks to be punching to just punch, while Perez is swinging with a purpose and landing. Doss looks to be a little gun shy and the round ends.

2nd Round

Perez comes out with some jabs and Doss comes back swinging. Doss lands a couple but Perez doesn’t look to be affected and is still being the aggressor. Perez lands the first kick of the night. Doss throws a jab, but these punches don’t look like they have much behind on them and are not landing. Perez lands a knee, Perez lands 3 punches and no answer from Doss and a BIG RIGHT HAND by Perez and that hurt Doss. Solid right to the body from Doss, but she still looks a little dazed. Perez lands another kick, Doss with a right and Perez is coming in swinging. Perez with another lead leg kick and the round ends.

3rd Round

Doss comes out with a right and stuffs a left into Perez’s face. Perez lands a right and a left, Doss is backing up and trying to work the jab and eats a left from Perez. Doss is trying to work the jab, but now is wiping her nose, looking to see if she’s cut it looks like. Can’t see anything from my view that looks to be a concern. Leg kick by Perez to that lead leg again and she lands another. Perez has an answer for Doss every time, and Doss lands a 3 jab combo and Perez answers with right and a leg kick. Doss lands her first leg kick and Perez with another one. Ten seconds left and Perez lands a right and they are both throwing hard going at it, and Perez ends the fight with a solid combo.

Unanimous decision 30-27 30-27 and 29-28 Shiely Perez

Aaron Daynes vs. Jack Butler

1st Round

They come out swinging and Butler gets taken down and Daynes ends up on top. Butler eats a shot to the face. Ref telling them to work. Butler has guard and Daynes peppering Butler’s ribs. Butler doing a good job of holding Daynes in his guard. Daynes gets Butler against the fence and ends up going for full mount and gets rolled over. Daynes reverses and puts Butler back onto his back and Daynes is back in Butler’s guard. Daynes stands up to drop a blow and doesn’t connect. Butler pulls a version of a rubber guard and attempts something, but Daynes breaks away and is landing some shots. Butler rolls Daynes over, Butler shrugging Daynes to get some space and Butler lands some short shots before the bell rings.

2nd Round
Daynes misses with the head kick and lands with the right and Butler misses with the side kick. They go to the ground and it looks like Daynes has him down and Butler gets Daynes pinned up against the fist, Butler is dropping some heavy hands and Daynes can’t do anything but cover up. He better do something soon, more shots being landed by Butler and Daynes is tapping… Daynes taps due to strikes in the 2nd round.

Daynes is up now and screams I fucking tapped and throws his mouth guard on the ground. It looks like he is pretty upset about eating a few more punches and is directing his anger towards the Ref. I think the ref did a great job of getting in there.

Lightning Jack Butler your winner due to tap from strikes in the 2nd round.

Your winner by rear naked choke at 1:12 in round 2 Steven Shade

JR Comacho vs. David Manery

1st Round

Manery comes out with two kicks and Comacho picks him up and slams him down. Damn that almost was a head spike and this fight just got ugly really quick. Camacho is just dominating Manery. Comacho has his back and switches it to get in a north and south position. Manery quick to shoot on Comacho and he is trying to return the favor of that earlier slam and Comacho puts his leg down and stuffs the attempt. It looks like Comacho might have a guillotine in. He has his legs wrapped around Manery and Manery’s face is turning red, Comacho has it sunk in and he taps. JR Comacho your winner due to guillotine choke.

He is bleeding pretty good, Deshayser working for the neck crank, and he knees Edgington. Edgington answers with a solid right and a spinning back kick. Edgington has Deshayser against the cage, and the ref is stopping this fight to have the doctor take a look at this cut.

Okay so the doctor says if the man wants to fight let him fight, and he wants to fight! They touch gloves and Deshayser comes in with a kick and Edgington lands with two fists. Levi Adamson vs. David “the Assassin” Thomas for the CCF Heavyweight Championship

Little Background for you guys, Dave Thomas is the Ex-Heavy Weight Champ of CCF. Big crowd favorite and a really frickin nice guy. He always comes into the ring with some crazy ass hairdo that is dyed all crazy. We got a chance to interview him and I’ll get that posted hopefully this weekend.

The challenger in my book is Levi Adamson; Levi is coming out of Brandon Shuey’s camp who you might have heard of as he was a professional fighter. Levi is also undefeated coming into this fight and has a huge crowd behind him.

1st Round

Thomas eats two left hands right out the gate and Adamson is coming to fight. Thomas lands a right of his own. Adamson landing punches and Thomas takes him to the ground. Thomas in half guard and Thomas is landing punches, Thomas in full mount letting punches loose. Adamson tries to scramble and Thomas goes for a Komura. Thomas lets it go and pushes Adamson’s face down and makes him eat a few rights. Thomas over to side control. Thomas lands another three rights. Adamson scrambles to get out and they go to North and South position. Thomas goes for an armbar, Thomas has an armbar and Adamson lands some right hands and Thomas lets go of the arm bar and Adamson ends up with top control. Adamson stands up and throws some punches. They decide to stand up. Adamson takes him to the ground and Thomas reverses to full mount and is throwing punches down on Adamson. Thomas stands up and drops a knee onto Adamson’s gut. Thomas lands another right. Thomas has got a rear naked choke now, but it is not sunk in deep enough, but he does have his hooks set and he is not giving up the choke attempt. Ten seconds left and I don’t think that he has enough time to get this in. Thomas lets go and the round ends.

I give that round 10-9 to Dave Thomas no question.

Something is going on with Dave Thomas; he is on the ground and not getting up. They have got the paramedics in the ring and they are checking Thomas out. This doesn’t look good they have called the fight, but it’s a rough moment when any fighter is down like this. They have got some oxygen on Dave and they have him sitting up. Still no word as to what happened. They are getting Thomas up and out of the ring; he is headed to the hospital.

Your new Heavy Weight Champ of CCF Levi Adamson due to a fighter not being able to answer the bell.
Levi Adamson continues his undefeated streak.

Jesse Vasquez vs. Nick Palmer for the CCF Middle Weight Title

1st Round

Palmer lands a leg kick and misses with the big right. Vasquez with the take down and Palmer goes for the guillotine. He doesn’t have it in though, and they stand back up. Vasquez trying to pick Palmer up, but he looks pretty grounded. Palmer attempts a guillotine and has his hooks in. It is in pretty solid and Vasquez slips his head out and Vasquez lands some punches from the top, but they have little effect. Palmer stands up and Vasquez lands a right as they break. Vasquez shoots again and Palmer throws him into the cage. Palmer attempts the takedown and Vasquez won’t go down easy. Palmer gets the double leg and Vasquez has no choice but to go down. Palmer in side control, not much movement Palmer in side control….. They’re rolling Palmer on bottom and he attempts the armbar. Vasquez grabs his head, but Palmer won’t let go. Vasquez trying to stand up now. Ten seconds left in the round and Palmer still trying when the bell rings.

2nd Round

Both fighters come out and land a leg kick a piece. Palmer shoots up against the cage and Palmer throws two knees. Vasquez misses with the high kick and Palmer misses with a superman punches but lands with the follow up left. They clinch again against the fence and Vasquez sweeps Palmer and ends up in side control. Vasquez in his corner getting instructions, Palmer trying to escape. Vasquez transitions in full mount and Palmer gives up his back. Vasquez has his hooks set and Palmer trying to stand up and Vasquez lands a right. Vasquez gives up the back and stands up and Palmer still down leans forward and Vasquez knees him in the face. Palmer is down and he is rocked. The ref has called a stop to this fight as it was a knee to a downed opponent. The ref is bringing in the doctor as Palmer is visually shook up. Vasquez is pissed as is his corner.

They are calling this fight. It’s a no contest due to a knee to a downed opponent.

Vasquez’s corner is screaming and raising a gripe. I guess they feel they are always fucked by the refs and judges at Qwest… This guy is going nuts. The ref announces a no contest and as the fighters are leaving the ring a little commotion occurs. You got both teams up in the mix, and the main event of the night Big Rick Robinson is at the forefront! Security is in there and it looks like they will hug it out! Everything is calm and we are back to some fights. Only two fights left and this night has been great!

Jason Ikenberry vs. Alex Lambert for the CCF Welterweight Title

Ikenberry took this fight on a days notice. His opponent got changed at the last minute so he wasn’t expecting a title fight, but I bet he is happy to get one!

Lambert comes running to the ring, he is pumped and ready to go, and this kid looks like a fighter who is wanting to fight.

1st Round

Lambert with a high kick that connects with Ikenberry’s hand. Ikenberry pulls a high kick, Lambert misses with a high kick. Ikenberry misses with a low kick of his own. Ikenberry pulls another high kick and Lambert swings twice and doesn’t kick, then misses with a high kick. Lambert with a quick double jab and misses with the high kick. Lambert comes in with a super punch and misses and he’s throwing and not connecting and he is swinging for the fences. He connects with a solid shot and Lambert folds up Ikenberry, Lambert on the top with a few punches to finish it out and Lambert wins by way of KO! WOW WHAT A FINISH!!!

Lambert is up on the fence and he is pumped! Ikenberry pops up and is a little upset about the stoppage. Lambert gets a chance to see the replay and he missed with 8 punches and connect right on the button with the ninth. This kid is looking it’s Christmas right now. Ikenberry gets a chance to see the replay realizes that he was out, he congratulates Lambert.

This Lambert kid is something else and I want to keep an eye on him, he could be going somewhere. His last two fights were KO’s as well from what I hear. The kid might have a future with his fists!

TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT!

Big Rick Robinson vs. Kelly Gneiting in the Super Heavy Weight fight of the night!

This fight breaks the current amateur MMA record for the most weight in the ring and there is no question as to how that is. These guys are huge. We have got over 800lbs of man in the cage!

A quick background on these guys, more detail in the interviews that will be posted later with the pics.

Kelly Gneiting weighed in at 450 LBS. He is a 3 time US Sumo Champion and took 5th in the world in 2005! This guy is huge and looks like could be trouble if he gets Rick on the ground.

Big Rick Robinson is 6’9” weighed in at 350 lbs. played in the NBA and ABA. He reminds me of a shorter Shaq, the guy wears a 15 ½ shoe and wears a 4XL glove. Not a small man. This is going to be a fight for the ages, someone is getting knocked out!

1st Round

Gneiting comes in with his hands up, and Robinson sticks him in the face with a solid jab, Gneiting with a jab of his own, but it doesn’t land. Robinson lands a solid leg kick. Gneiting is just coming straight forward trying to get close enough to clinch up with Robinson and Robinson tries to throw Gneiting, but shrugs him off an avoids the takedown. Robinson lands a solid kick to the stomach, Gneiting sumo pressing (it wasn’t a charge, but like a sumo walk with meaning) and eats another left. Gneiting with a jab of his own and Robinson avoids it, the height is too much for Gneiting and he eats another punch and Robinson lands a solid left and Gneiting goes down. ITS OVER!!!!! BIG RICK ROBINSON WITH THE KO!

Gneiting was down for quite some time, that is a big guy and he went down hard. Big Rick Robinson says he wants a Super Heavy Weight Division.

This wraps the fights up and we want to say thanks again to Knockout Promotions, CCF, XFS, Qwest Arena, and all the fighters tonight for letting us be a part of a great night of fights. This is Anton with Getbig.com and Fist-ta-Cuff Radio reporting to you live from the Qwest arena in Boise Idaho and good night!
