Thanks for the shoutout adonis, I will watch it when I have a few minutes.
I think there needs to be more debate on the details of the bill.  So far they are just rushing it through.  There may be some good and bad stuff in there, we need a scalpel now.  I've heard some good mandates to force more fairness to the people but I think a government controlled option will knock out most of the private options.  Gov option will also increase cost (CBO analysis), significantly ration care for the elderly, create even more paperwork and pre-certifications that no one has time for, probably make us see even more patients than we do now...if thats possible, and decrease the overall quality of care.

I like that more people will be covered, they remove pre-existing conditions clauses, they seem to want to push preventitive medicine (my exact interest), and I like a standardization of reimbursement for visits and proceedures (if thats in there).  Insurance companies already ration care but I can't see how gov rationing will be better.

-I completely agree with him on the costs of defensive medicine and the enormous costs of continuing to allow frivelous lawsuits with large monetary rewards, lawyers pushing for higher damages, and the great # of settlements to avoid suits.  We also have to deal with malpractice insurance.  There is no reason for malpractice to go up for a doc that is named in a suit, even if they aren't directly at fault.  If we have a nationalized system, there must be tort reform and lawsuit pre-screenings to weed out frivelous suits that costs docs and hospitals millions+.  (Most hospitals settle to avoid even more costs and lawyers know this).

-I haven't had that many problems with Medicare, so I kind of agree on that point...but Medicare & Medicaid are loosing tons of $ so not sure how you can expand that to the whole population without explosive debts.
-I agree on the problems he mentions with current insurance companies, its a faulty system.
-I'm not necessarily opposed to a single payor system...there are positives and negatives.  However, it is intuitive that the more competition the better.  I think there could be a lot done with the current system before proposing nationalized healthcare.
-I don't think this doctor has read the specifics of the bill on the table.  I saw a few things that are problematic with the brief info that has been released.
