Nude photos - lose respect for competitor?
« on: July 26, 2009, 05:29:35 PM »
Noticed that Marzia Prinze, winner of the 2007 Ms. Bikini Universe, took the next step and did very revealing nude photos and videos for Playboy.  Though her past pics were fairly risque, wondered if anyone thinks that going the "full monty" is a bad move and if people will lose respect for Marzia?

Her web site (http://www.marziaprince.com/index2.htm)pushes her personal fitness business.  I am sure her male clients will increase dramatically, but think her decision to pose nude will lose her lots of female clients.  Maybe in this era of celebrity porn videos, posing nude doesn't hurt as much anymore.

Here's an example of the playboy photos:

It's not a sport and they really don't make tons of money.

Can't see a good reason to not strike while the iron is hot.

Sexuality is a part of the business.

Hahah, there are some that do more than nudity, particularly the female bodybuilders.

In percentage terms, the number that pose nude is actually very low, but in absolute terms much higher than some people might think.

Attractive girl..but lately I am growing tired of Barbie doll blondes with their little fake boobs and plastic look. Almost makes me want the opposite..a natural breasted brunette with a little fur down below.

Your point? :)

It's not like there's a next level, more money or brighter future for top level competitors. Without porn there really wouldn't be a place for people who don't win a lot of shows to make money aside from counting reps.

why shouldn't fitness competitors use the fact that they have attractive physiques and make an honest and legal living from it? instead of dealing drugs or hustlinf schmoes for money?

I definitely agree with this...

As far as the topic of the thread, no it does not make me lose respect for the competitors who do this. They already engage in a sport that is all about the body and compete in bikinis. So what's the big deal? Full on B/G porn is a different story, but to each his own.  :)

Tough question. If competing is something you are going to do and can and want to win a major title then I would say NO! it is not a good idea. Marzia does Bikini and I don't think it matters what you win in Bikini- does anyone see her as a role model for physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle??  She is a Bikini model! Not an athlete

She looks beautiful in the pics and video by the way. I liked it alot and didn't lose any respect for her after seeing that :o

What wrong message, Fitness/figure wouldn't exist if horny dudes didn't wanna see female bodybuilders...
Hell, i'd go see hot chicks in high heels vs. juiced up female and male bodybuilders any day.

Well, modesty is sexy, and that is why there is a bit of a taboo with nudity. Ofcourse, modesty could very well be subjective. Im certainly not going to look down on her for it, since I like to look at nude pictures myself. I think as long as nude photo shoots are kept somewhat limited and tempered, it isnt a problem.

I agree with you, but in my book, I would have a lot of respect for them being nude--cause I like to look at nude women, I'd be like "OOHHH DAMN!!"

Most of the nude fitness and bodybuilding women look kind of bizarre to me. They have this paper-thin skin with these two overly round , incredibly fake looking implants that literally look like they have two softballs glued under their skin. For most young guys who have grown up conditioned to the blond barbie dolls with fake tits, this isn't a big deal. but if your someone such as myself who is a purist and has an eye for aesthetics and physical harmony, such unnaturalness is unappealing.

Steroided women are even worse with their freakish, thick masculine waists. I'm surprised that there are so many women out there who make the descision to say, "Ok, I'm willing to make my voice sound like Barry White, I'm going to have to shave my beard, my jaw will grow, my hairline will reced. I'll probably get acne, I'll repulse normal people, I'll get pimply... BUT HEY I'LL WIN A PLASTIC TROPHY!" Don't understand it.

IF THESE GIRLS HAD MORE BF ON THEM THEY WOULD LOOK MUCH MORE APPEALING........ BODYBUILDERS THAT ARE PEELED LOOK GOOD BECAUSE THEY HAVE MUSCLE..... MOST OF THESE GIRLS LOOK MUCH BETTER IN THE OFFSEASON WITH MORE WEIGHT ON THEM.

THE MONEY ISN'T EVEN CLOSE TO BEING ENOUGH COMPENSATION FOR WHAT THESE GIRLS HAVE TO DO TO GET SO LEAN....DIETING......SEV ERAL HOURS A WEEK OF WEIGHT TRAINING.......THE LOW CALORIES AND ULTRA LOW CARB INTAKE........JUST MY POINT OF VIEW.

Every competitor must make their own decision as to how far they want to go in terms of photos and/or videos.  But there is a major difference between hardcore porn, softcore porn,  and just artistic pictures, with implied nudity or semi-nude.

You should know that any picture you take will eventually end of somewhere, in this age of the internet, so if you are comfortable with nude pictures, then fine.

Marzia and others were confortable with posing for Playboy, but even that is not hard core pics like Hustler, or worse.

Implied nudity, if done tastefully, looks great, but you need to feel comfortable with the photographer, and trust them that they won't put your picture anywhere.

Nude photos is a different story.  Topless photos, here in Los Angeles, have been done by a myriad of actresses with no disrespect at all.  Implied nudity not a problem either.

Full nude is a different story.  Artistic nudity is your choice, but what I call porn are full on action shots, etc. There is a difference.

Yeah but there is a difference between nude photos of a woman that are supposed to be somewhat private that are leaked against her will, and nude photos of a woman that are intended to be viewed by a somewhat wide audience. I just dont find leaked photos of nude woman that are supposed to be private all that sexy. That's because there is no fantasy element whatsoever. Youre looking at something that is completely real and raw. It is a lot more sexy and enjoyable when the nudity is somewhat conscentual - even if she is only doing it for money. That's part of the reason that I have never liked those leaked celebrity sex videos. (Yes Im aware of the speculaiton that some of them were intentionally leaked by the celebrities to garner attention and publicity and money, but Im sure most of them were indeed leaked against thier will.)

I would never lose respect for a person just because they take some nude photos.  Although, I would prefer that the photos be classy and focus on the artistic representation of the human body and not simply "Porn".  I'm not a fan of Playboy either because of the "Playboy Mansion" lifestyle that they have been pushing.  However, it's not for me to judge.  If you have a great body, who am I to shit on you for making a buck?

it's not like she is getting gang banged on camera-- Who cares really?

She makes a nice chunk of change, she gets exposure and lets be honest-- It has to be a major ego stroker ( no pun intended) to be chosen to model for playboy. If I was sexy enough to make money for posing nude in playboy, I would do that shit in 2 seconds.

Her body is her livelyhood, so why not have it presented in a manner by which it will be noticed?

Playboy is like the top of the mountain in terms of tastefulness for nude photos. I highly doubt she will lose female clients as a result. If anything, she may gain female clientel imo.
