Heavy Cream?
« on: October 12, 2009, 06:56:09 AM »
I get the free Beverly Mag and see that sometimes people use Heavy Cream when they are dieting for a show.

What are the benefits of this?  It just seems like "heavy cream" wouldn't be on a diet?

Is their Muscle PRovider mainly a protein shake (not MRP)?  How is the vanilla?

Beverly is big into Vince Gironda’s preachings, and even reference him in several of their product write-ups.

From IronMan Magazine March 1976 Vol. 35 No. 3:
Quote
How To Use And Prepare Protein For Muscle Size:

Never use a blender to mix protein. Blenders emulsify the fat in milk to a suspension too small for digestion. (Homogenized Milk.) Never use milk for a protein mix. Milk has too much carbohydrate. Protein and carbohydrate digest in different mediums. Protein (acid medium), Carbohydrates (alkaline medium). You may mix powdered protein and eggs in heavy whipping cream. Whipping cream is zero carbohydrate. Mix with a spoon to a consistency of pudding and eat with a spoon. Cow's milk or cream has five times the lysine found in human milk. Calves double body weight every 30 days. Human babies double bodyweight every six months. Before bodybuilders discovered supplements, milk was the principal growth food. Cow's milk, or cream, also contain the anterior pituitary hormone which is secreted by the cow when lactating to accelerate growth of the calf. Bodybuilders consuming cow's milk (or cream) can also benefit from this growth hormone. This food mixture should be eaten with two or three H.C.L. (hydrochloric acid) tablets for metabolic, digestive support. All units of protein are measured with eggs as No. 1 protein, milk is 2nd, and meat is 3rd.

Mixing powders with cream will build muscle faster, but it should also be noted that Vince had his guys following a high protein/high fat/very low carb diet – a dietary protocol that has been reinvented and modified many times over the years.
The inclusion of carbs will lead to fat!

I don’t believe that he had them consuming the shakes when dieting for a contest, although I could be mistaken.
There’s some good info here if you ever have the time or desire:

Can also be mentioned that Muscle Provider is a milk/egg blend – another popular item in Vince’s arsenal.

Rheo Blair started the boom with that formula, and Vince eventually made & sold his own after their falling out.

stella
i use heavy whipping creme in my shakes
i use the beverly international ultra size....which btw is no longer being made so stock up while u can!!!!
i do 2-3 tbsp creme in 2-3 scoop of ultra size w a scoop of fiber supp...lots of ice...and i freeze it for 5-10 mins
the creme is good cuz it has no milk sugars in it-and really helps u digest the protein nice and slow-
but if u were following a high carb diet i dont think u would want to use the creme
i do a very low carb diet w high protein and high fat

mus provider is good post workout-its whey hydro and iso and egg white

ultra size or ultimate muscle protein is good for meal replacements
the vanilla is amazing-smells like cake batter and tastes like pudding

Heavy cream is a great addition to a diet.....I use it most of the time to make protein puddings or for my weight gain shake I have along side my breakfast, which includes full fat milk, so as for the mixing protein shakes with milk being a bad idea......rubbish!

I have added heavy cream to shakes in the past to boost calories.

It seemed to be effective in helping me to gain/retain size, but as others mentioned you do not want to mix it with carbs due to the obvious fat content.

It’s also been suggested that you cannot digest any protein powder isolates without natural fat being present - another purpose the cream satisfies.

Lots of bb’ers used to mix their shakes with cream and reported phenomenal results.
