Add Drudge to the list of media outlets that has got its hands on Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue. The top story on the site today links directly through an excerpt of the book, posted by Drudge, that details Palin’s decision to do the now infamous Katie Couric interviews. Apparently Palin agreed to them because she felt sorry for Katie:

Nicolle went on to explain that Katie really needed a career boost. “She just has such low self-esteem,” Nicolle said. She added that Katie was going through a tough time. “She just feels she can’t trust anybody.”

I was thinking, And this has to do with John McCain’s campaign how?

Nicolle said. “She wants you to like her.”

Hearing all that, I almost started to feel sorry for her. Katie had tried to make a bold move from lively morning gal to serious anchor, but the new assignment wasn’t going very well.

Snap! The truth of the matter is that those Palin interviews did give Katie Couric a much-needed career boost, the fact they also almost entirely delegitimatized Palin as a viable candidate, and pulled the rug out from under the McCain-Palin campaign in the process isn’t addressed in the excerpt. What is addressed is that apparently other than scheduling Couric McCain’s staffers tried pretty hard to keep Palin under wraps where the media was concerned.

McCain Adviser Denies Palin’s Claim She Granted Couric Interview Because She Pitied Couric’s Low Self Esteem.

One of the whackiest claims Sarah Palin makes in her new book is that she agreed to her disastrous interview with Katie Couric — a central event during Campaign 2008 — because a top McCain aide told her Couric had low self esteem, leading Palin to take pity on the CBS anchor.

A McCain adviser I just spoke to adamantly denied the claim, and provided a counter story: Palin was repeatedly urged by McCain aides to prepare for the interview, but refused...

“It’s not true,” the McCain adviser I just reached said, laughing heartily at the claim. “It’s ridiculous.” ...

“She lacked the knowledge base to stand in front of the press corps that was traveling with her and answer questions,” the adviser said delicately. “Because of the success of the convention speech, the feeling was that she should be exposed to as many people as possible directly, not through a media filter. The way to do that was to do interviews with the anchors.”

“The truth is, she refused to prepare for the Katie Couric interview,” the adviser continued. “She refused to engage in any preparation. And it was a disaster.”http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/campaigns/mccain-advi... /

Wasn't you told to keep this bullshit in the one thread?  Yet you still carry on and on about it?  What is it?  You can't read or just too stupid to follow simple instructions.

I think EVERYONE should feel sorry Couric. Her ratings are the lowest in the history of HER NETWORKS NIGHT TIME NEWS PROGRAM.She gets her ass handed to her every night of the week.Add to that her gummy smile and I think a little sympathy is well deserved.

I also feel bad that when Joe Biden was interviewed by her he said "FDR WAS PRESIDENT IN 1929 AND WENT ON TELEVISION".Perhaps the dumbest statement ANYT politician has EVER made.

No.

And neither will the vast majority of the rest of the country.

Face it.  You are infatuated with a dingbat that couldn't handle the position anyway.

Have you commented on any of these ?  no.

You are the one infatuated with her.

Just forget about her.

IMO, it's probably only leftist who will bring up Palin from now on, realising that Palin is a perfect target.

Republicans will leave her be.

So how about just drop her. She's not really part of the GOP think tank anymore.

it's both sides.  You're a conservative who posts Palin 2012 bumper stickers.  Hannity has her this week.  FOX is talking about her a lot.  Everybody is.  She was the VP nominee and is probably today's biggest, most public voice of the Repub party- she is a big deal.

I like her you know that.

However, the attacks minute by minute over a private citizen is ridiculous when you have KSM coming to NYC, Health Care Deform, Crap & Tax, our presidents going on a world apology tour etc.

that private citizen is one of the top 5 republican voice in the country.  When she speaks, people listen.  Far more to her than a Newt, Mitt, whoever.  She has a huge platform - and she's using it in a major way.
