A Crisis of Culture
« on: November 17, 2009, 05:44:32 AM »
This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America-in large, bold letters. This was a letter to the editor August 29th in a Jackson, MS newspaper.

Dear sirs:

During my last night's shift in the ER, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple, elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B tune for a ringtone.

Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status:

Medicaid.

She smoke more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day, and, somehow, still has money left over to buy beer.

And our Congress expects me to pay for this woman's health care.

Our nation's health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses.

It is a crisis of culture.

A culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance.

A culture that thinks, "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me."

Life is really not that hard. Most os us reap what we sow. Don't you agree?

Dr. Starner Jones, MD
Jackson, MS

Its worse over here,a niggero came into my shop wanting 'tablets or protein to give him muscles'
I said  'do you even train with weights?'
He said 'No,but I can get the health board to pay for a gym for me if it'll help'
I then asked him to leave my shop

Luckily, being a member of a private gym,the gym commitee can refuse a person membership if they feel like it,so none of these scum or romanians in our gym,or no Irish jobless leeches in there either

Yeah I dunno, it's social causes partly at least. I think if you have a sh!t life then a few bucks a day on some fags to alleviate day to day depression hardly seems the same as hundreds of thousands on health care, even if you can ergue in the long run it is. What a piece of shit country anyway to be so rich but have no NHS.

I tried to tell my parents to drop my insurance all the time - they have me on the cobra plan with bcbs - like $350/month for me alone

I figure if I get sick I go to hospital - they have to treat me - then I rack up debt and file for medicaid in a few years then I can get an escalade, fresh nikes, my hair braided, a balla chain, some digital cameras at 'da traphouse', and get zaytoven to do some beats for me

but I end up in the hospital every 2yrs or so for something or other so they wont :-[

My point is that it isn't news, it's an op/ed piece with all the right buttons that Moose like to push -ie. race and money and (another) chance for him to sneer at someone.

Oh, I'm not doubting that these people exists. We have GOMERS here, too. (Even some Americans who try to get free health care on 'day trips'  ;D ) but this is just Moose fear monger as per usual, is my point.

I don't ever go to the hospital like this. Yes, the waiting rooms are filled with GOMERS and 'trash' who think something is wrong with their leg. If I think something is wrong, which is very rare, I phone my doc and I get seen pronto. If a real emergency happened, like I broke my arm or car accident, you better believe I would be wheeled past all those sitting around watching tv in the waiting room.

Actually, whatever the buttons the article allegedly wants to push, the truth is I see kids constantly being fed total junk..sodas, candy, twinkies all around me. The parents of these kids eat just as bad and you see these three hundred pound women walking around with their fat wobbly asses....And I have to have my taxes raised to pay for these idiots' health care when they don't even bother to live a remotely healthy lifestyle? Sorry, that socialist bleeding heart crap doesn't fly here in America. People need to take some responsibility for their actions.
