While I think it is ridiculous to have toy guns that look this real, the fact that the ATF LIES so openly about the guns in order to seize them is unreal. I would have had them seized just over the fact that they look so real and could be used to rob people, banks , businesses being that the victim would have no way of knowing if the "toy" is real or not

  • Dumb people think Trump is smart.
Technically it would be possible to convert them into machine guns.  Steel barrels inserted inside the plastic shell, jerry rig a homemade firing pin and catch, etc..  Heck you could turn a plain piece of PVC pipe into a machine gun.

Possible? Yes.
Safe? No.
Bullshit?  Totally.

unreal.  I would like to see the documentation on those being converted to real firearms too.  I would also like to see if you get HH6 to disagree with this post lol

Like the guy who sells them said. You can try, but it will blow up in your face as soon as you pull the trigger, Just don't see the need for the ATF to exaggerate the truth like that. Anyway...how does one go about filing freedom of information papers??

What is the point of the ATF? Can't we just have a single Federal enforcement division? Why the ATF and all the others?

I guess that is probably a rhetorical question, but whatever.

Lurker said it best.

Besides... making guns look that real is a problem because you have kids  getting shot by cops (or regular joes).  If I'm standing in line buying groceries and some dickhead 14 year old points this gun at an old lady being funny, I'm blowing his lid off, no questions asked.  It's dangerous to sell shit like this to kids, who aren't responsible enough not to know better.

Reminds me of 20 years ago when cops kept shooting kids playing Lazer Tag.  Look how realistic this shit looks.  is it BS?  Sure.  but I'd like to require people be 18 to buy this, definitely.

You guys aren't getting the whole story...these toys are supposed to be sold with a orange cap on the end.  Now whether kids take them off or not is another discussion.  When I was a kid I never took mine off...granted, my parents would chap my and my brothers' asses when we did.  A parenting issue?

The BATF is the most useless agency that we have.  Rules are selectively enforced at gun stores...it's crazy how big our government has grown.

And the more it grows the more ineffective and weird it gets

I had a bunch of bright neon green, red, orange, blue, and yellow squirt guns I was bringing home from Florida a couple yeears ago, and I had a bunch of TSA guys jump on me saying "Make sure you put those in your checked luggage" It was so funny. It was pretty obvious they were useless toys, ...but they were deadly serious. i can only imagine how they'd freak over seeing something like those. I was so nervous answering the TSA official at the airport, when he asked me if I was bringing any souvenirs back with me.. lol. I think my voice broke when I answered 'toy guns". I think I also overemphasized the "toy" part too.  :D
