No, GWB flirted with fiscal socialism, Obama is full in and 100% full steam ahead with this garbage.

Obama:  "I sought out the marxist professors"

Is this an actual quote or one of your 'sources'  ::)  by the way context is important too you know.

You see you can't properly explain why you have such opposition when Bush sr enacted a cap and trade like system is he an NWO shill?  Bush jr was there when the 2002 farm bill passed, he didn't veto it.

The subsidy programs give farmers extra money for their crops and guarantee a price floor. For instance in the 2002 Farm Bill, for every bushel of wheat sold farmers were paid an extra 52 cents and guaranteed a price of 3.86 from 2002–03 and 3.92 from 2004–2007.  That is, if the price of wheat in 2002 was 3.80 farmers would get an extra 58 cents per bushel (52 cents plus the $0.06 price difference).

Corn is the top crop for subsidy payments, due in part to the fact that corn has uses aside from food and feed. US corn ethanol subsidies are between $5.5 Billion and $7.3 Billion per year, and US ethanol producers are protected from imports of cheaper Brazilian ethanol by a 54-cent-per-gallon tariff. Producers also benefit from a federal subsidy of 51 cents per gallon, additional state subsidies and, federal crop subsidies that can bring the total to 85 cents per gallon or more. The 2005 energy law mandates that billions of gallons of ethanol be blended into vehicle fuel each year, guaranteeing demand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agricultural_subsidy

If this isn't government intervention and socialism as well what is 333?  Is it only socialism when Obama does it?  Or is there something else there as to why you act this way to one president yet not to another???

The stimulus bill has created ZERO jobs. The health care scheme will provide worse health care[can you name one thing where government improves a thing],the democrats run on racial fear EVERYTIME.Republicans dont want to take away social security or medicare or medicaide that is a lie. They want to save them from the filthy democrats who never want to pay for anything. You,by saying that prove that democrats run on fear and do it everytime. The very fact that Obama says the economy was the worst since the great depression when he ignores Carters economy is another example.Saying "we have to pass these things RIGHT AWAY " or we will be in a depression is another example.Sorry, democrats are the party of fear.

What we forgot was that little forgotten fact that the Demcrats tried to pass the healthcare bill in the closed door meeting overnight during the very beginning of this mess. How cute. And Obama was supposed to be the great unifier...

These marxists cant accept the fact that Obama is far worse than GWB and has made things far worse.

Uh TARP was under Bush guys.  Obama continued on the same road Bush was going down, hence left wing anger over it at places like DU.  You're attacking the actions that Bush would have taken and had started to take.  Hilarious.

So?  Did you answer to anything i posted.  I don't care if he sought marxist professors, no one does, except you.  and you use it as some excuse as to why you hate him when he's done the same things as the president before him.

On December 19, 2008, President Bush used his executive authority to declare that TARP funds may be spent on any program he personally deems necessary to avert the financial crisis. This has allowed President Bush to extend the use of TARP funds to support the auto industry, a move supported by the United Auto Workers.

They then purchased $13,400 (millions) in GM preferred shares.  UNDER BUSH.  Wow that's socialism isn't it?

There was a CBO report out it saved and created jobs but i'm unsure of the extent.  I would have to look it up.

Good job kc - Good job at doing your best at confusing what was government work at helping a struggling sector of the economy with what Obama is trying to do. Bush wasn't trying to TAKE OVER THE FARMING INDUSTRY, FORCE PEOPLE TO BUY THEIR CORN. What Obama is doing is thuggery.

Thats fine but how exactly do you measure a saved job? The whole premise is ridiculous, and what jobs were created? Government jobs? If so how does that benefit the private sector?

My guess would be there is likely some calculation that use to measure whether jobs were saved or not.  As to the accuracy of such a thing.  I don't know.

It's regardless of what is thrown out, it has to do with a fair price for the services rendered. What you are confusing is that the differences here is Bush did not want to take over anything. He was looking out for the farming ind. Anyone with a half a brain knows this ind is suffering. I don't know of any "farm aid" concerts for the healthcare ind.

Thats what I mean, they create some calculation, then all of sudden we have a new measure of how great the stim is working. For my next trick I'll pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Fair price for what exactly?  Food that is then thrown out?  Obviously supply and demand has been skewed hasn't it?  I mean the supply is EXCEEDING the demand yet we are still paying farmers to grow more and more sh*t food like soy and corn.  This also has an important correlation to obesity in America.  We all know about high fructose corn syrup and how bad it is for you, and the reason it's about is because we pay farmers to grow it and they can undersell other sweetener products.  Not exactly fair is it?

You are being too simplistic here regarding the disposal of food. Maybe this was due to a bad crop season. Maybe it was due to over supply like you said. But why don't you look up the bankrypcy rate for farmers in this country the last 15 years? Not exactly in proportion is it..

In what context did Bush say this? Was it the silly story on MSNBC, with Keith Obermann? We all know Keith's stand on Bush. Point taken. At the time this story was in the news the Bush Admin was working on making sure this country was safe from terrorism. Now I don't agree with the face value of this statement, but you don't have a constitution when you don't have security. And in this context, Bush needed to aliegn with the right people who will do what it takes to keep this country safe.

By DOUG THOMPSON
Dec 9, 2005, 06:39

Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.

Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case
that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a god-damned piece of paper!”

This was in regards to wire taping Mons. So, this same wire taping that you liberals hate, also saved the brooklyn Bridge and subway tunnels from being destroyed AFTER 911 happened. About a year after this plan was in the working phases. This was evidence that was confirmed by KSM after his capture. What Bush was saying here was I need to do what I need to to protect htis country and you are throwing the constitution in my face as a roadblock. In my view, again, you don't have a constitution if you don't have security. Sorry man. Your point is not well taken. In fact it is typical liberal left wing sept 10th thinking at its best.

Talking about fear.

Didn't the Democrats call the war in Iraq a quagmire and worst than their own mess of Vietnam in just the first year of combat?

Now, they want to take credit for it.
