The only thing in the ingredients list that stood out was melatonin, and that is because its known to increase estrogen levels. So if you want bitch tits, by all means buy the stuff.  I wouldn't touch the stuff

Melatonin is not estrogenic.
Conversely, it inhibits gonadotropic hormones in humans – even causing atrophy of the gonads in several animal species.

My wife started taking it (Melitonin) to sleep better at night, then she was 8 days late on her period.   So she stopped taking it,  then several months later she tried taking it again, and same thing happened.  If its powerful enough to throw off a women's period then its not something I would recommend.

LOL!!! I can't blame you for being concerned.
Reminds me of the old joke about fighting something that bleeds for five days & doesn't die... ;D

Okay:
One of my professors told me that there are currently studies being done to examine melatonin's use a "natural" birth control since its gonadotropic hormone suppression effects have exhibited effects like those you described in your wife.

They need to do A LOT MORE research before green-lighting women to use melatonin in place of conventional birth control means.
But you're safe.
Guys will not develop boobies from melatonin. ;)

3-6mg / night is enough to:
   a.) regulate circadian rhythms
b.) act as an antioxidant to fight free radical formation
c.) enhance immunity by enhancing lymphocytic ability to ward off pathogens
   d.) possibly prevent aging

As for Yep, BB's original post - if you've got all of your bases covered in the way of basic, FOUNDATIONAL supplements and still have money burning a hole in your pocket, then I would say "try" a batch & see if you like it.
Personally, I would only invest in more solid products, but that's JMO.

Thanks, Montague....

I don't have a whole in my pocket, to try something that doesn't sound to good.... I'm taking Protein ( about 1.25 grams per body pound daily, Creatine, multivitamin, and Glutamine....anything else that would help..I pretty much like to keep it basic....

Thanks

You're welcome.
I hope you’re getting most of your protein from food instead of shakes.
Supplements are not meant to be a primary source of nutrition.

Anyway, I’ll gladly tell you what’s in my supplement cupboard right now – pretty basic stuff:

Protein Powder (egg/milk blend)
Digestive Enzymes
30 grain dessicated liver tablets
Melatonin
Bronkaid
Vitamin B complex & addl. B-6

* Will soon be ordering some BCAA powder & lots more liver tabs.

Everything above is stuff I've used for some time with favorable results.
These are all in addition to a good daily food diet:

Protein powder gets mixed with about 1 part water / 1.5 parts heavy cream. Sipped throughout the day. Good absorption, taste and gains.

Enzymes are a “multi” – good for digesting proteins, fats, carbs, lactose, and starches. I take 2-3 per day around meals. I suspect a lot of people who don’t see results from good nutrition simply aren’t metabolizing the nutrients effectively.

Liver Tablets are old-school tried & proven. Excellent source of heme iron, folic acid, vit B-12, essential, nonessential, and branched chain amino acids. All the benefits of beef liver without fat and cholesterol. Very anabolic and inexpensive.
Some people take 5-6 per day for a week and complain they saw no results. :-\ I take about 30-40 spread throughout the day. Old timers took well over 100.

Melatonin regulates sleep patterns, and thus, improves hGH secretion from the somatotroph cells of the anterior pituitary.

Bronkaid is a bronchial dilator whose ingredients help a lot of people breathe better. A few naughty folks will buy it for its ephedrine content, which coincidentally is the preferred dosage for the classic E/C/A stack. I DON'T use this regularly.

Vit B-12 helps your body metabolize food into energy
B-6 is important for your CNS.

I’ve tried several brands of creatine & have justifiably diagnosed myself as a rare “non-responder.”
Glutamine provided me no noticeable benefits, either. Mags and supplement co’s really hyped the stuff years ago – some still do.

BCAA’s (leucine, iso-leucine, and valine) give me much more bang for my buck.

I’ll be cutting the heavy dairy and powders from my diet in a few more weeks.
Replacing those will be the BCAA powder & increased daily intake of liver tabs.

However you are the second person to recommend taking them...

I’ve used Vitamin Shoppe brand, but they’re comparatively small and more expensive in relation to the 30-grain ones I take now.

I try not to spam, but if you go to Google and type in the keywords: “Universal” + “Nutrition” + “Uni-liver,” you may see my favored brand among the first of the search results.

Buy them online – they’re cheaper.
I get 500 for $16.
Where do you live (country)?
