What country are we in? 200 students left school and held a march today following the reports yesterday that 4 students dare wear American flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo.

MorganHill Times reported:

About 200 Hispanic teens are marching in Morgan Hill yelling “We want respect!” and “Si se puede!” in reaction to a controversy ignited when the Live Oak High School principal effectively sent four students home for wearing T-shirts with American flags on them during Cinco de Mayo.

Mexican-American students felt the students were being disrespectful on the only day they celebrate their heritage while students sporting red, white and blue said it violated their First Amendment rights.

Six police cars and a Morgan Hill motorcycle officer have been cruising alongside the large group as it marches.

The group – mostly high school students – walked out of school this morning after the story of four students who were sent home because they wore American flag T-shirts went viral on TV and online. Many wear red, white and green and two large Mexico flags can be seen at the front of the line.

The students say they want people to know they’re proud of their heritage and they believe wearing red, white and blue on Cinco de Mayo is disrespectful.

Flying the Mexican flag above the upside down American flag is disrespectful, I don't care if they are illegals or American citizens.  I guess there are no laws in the US prohibiting this, but I don't like it.

That's my point.  Its cool if you want to celebrate your heritage.  But to fly the USA flag upside down under the Mexican flag?

If these kids think Mexico is so great, they should ask their parents why they came here in the first place and put things into perspective.

We have our problems and issues, but this type of behavior is really insane.

Killing them won't solve this problem.  Getting rid of the jackass educators and replacing them with some decent ones will help.

  • Quiet, Err. I'm transmitting rage.
My advice: Keep marching until you get back to wherever your parents immigrated from and STUFU!

One of the reasons why I love South Park is that all of their political commentary comes to fruition in the end. If you keep allowing an endless stream of these disgusting 3rd world slobs to enter the country, then it wont be long before America becomes as bad, broke, hopeless and depressing as the places that these people come from.

Legalizing the illegals will be the nail in the coffin for America- I guarantee it.

If he's so upset about how these kids were treated on Cinqo de Mayo, ...why is he sporting Red, White, & Green?

How much more respect can they get? They have a freedom to say whatever the hell they want, to march and protest for it (even if that means causing inconvenience to others). They should expect that everyone else has the same rights and privileges and that other people can be as damn proud of their heritage (or any other matter).
"Cinqo de mayo" or whatever they call it does not give them the right to own the country for a day or to oppress others' freedom.

Agreed, ...however I think many people are feeling especially touchy on the heels of the ridiculous Arizona law.

I believe that's what the ill conceived Arizona law was trying to address. Do try to keep up.

On this one... I gotta agree... I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

This is true... Why aren't people worried about the legalized and naturalized citizens more? No one hates an illegal immigrant more than a legal one.
