Sheppikki,

How much rent does Sev owe you for the space he has occupied in your mind?

I have trouble believing those that said they can run a 6 minute mile.  That's 10 MPH on the treadmill for a mile at a 1% grade to simulate a six minute mile.  If you can do that you're in decent cardio shape having a good Vo2.  I haven't met to many bodybuilders that can do that.

I ran a 5:15 mile when I was younger.

Most people that just complete a marathon and don't race it are not capable of a 6 minute mile.  I would bet that all sub 4 hour marathoners could but I would have trouble believing that any one completing it in over 4 hours could do it.

Strength without conditioning is worthless.  That's why elite military, boxers, wrestlers, MMA guys all hit the road.  You need gas in the tank.

They were really lightweight.  I never owned a pair.

Can you run a mile in 6 minutes or less?

Can you hike up a 3000 foot mountain?

Can you bicycle 60 miles in one day?

Can you touch your toes without bending your knees?

 Can you do a handstand?

Can you play basketball for a solid hour?

Or are you just a permabulker walking around like an elephant who can't do shit?

Personally I would rather be able to do all of these things and be 170 pounds, than be a 260 pound ogre who can't do any of these things.

Some people here seem to think that being "in shape" is directly related to how hyyyooooge your arms are bro! Well, that's just not true. Sorry fat boy.

I went through a long cold winter out here and I barely did any cardio. Just sat around lifting weights, doing a little yoga and eating and gained almost 35 pounds. This bulking life is not good. It doesn't feel good. It's much better to be healthy and conditioned.

It depends what you're into though. I'm into hiking, backpacking, sports and being active when the weather is good. If you are just a TV watching couch potatoe and than there's no need to get in shape.

I'd rather be overweight and strong than an emaciated good long distance runner.

I'd rather be overweight and strong than an emaciated good long distance runner.

 It's all about being inbetween.

Being muscular and cut with some decent mass. Yet also being flexible, athletic and conditioned for cardio.

Long distance runners are on the extreme end of the spectrum for being skinny and in shape, but weak as hell.

It's all about balance. I look to boxers, martial artists, yogis, and some 70 bodybuilders as my ultimate goal. I definitely don't look to freakshow IFBB guys as my fitness role models.

That's awesome for you then. That's very, very uncommon.

Most guys don't have the genetics for that. When they push themselves to 260 with huge arms they have to do heavy bulking for years and years and limit cardio. And then if they decide to get in shape and do lots of cardio later, they lose a lot of mass.

Of course if you use lots of hormones this changes the whole game though.

Everybody's heart stops sooner or later, due to different reasons. That's when we cease to live, isn't it?

So everyone got it coming.
