Protein options while travelling
« on: September 02, 2010, 07:36:05 AM »
With my new job I need to travel between 5-10 days per month.  As I am sure many of you know, hotel living can take its toll on your training and especially diet.  Many hotel fitness rooms at least have a few treadmills to burn some calories, and I can do some bodyweight workouts in my room.  My question is, what does everyone suggest for quality protein while on the road?  It's too tough to take the 2lb jugs of protein in a suitcase, and with no blender to use I am kind of at a loss and would like some suggestions what other Getbig'rs do.

Thanks in advance.

Make room in your suitcase for a bag or two of these:

EAS 100% Whey Protein Vanilla - 5lb

Take a shaker cup with you and just mix with water or milk from the vending machine.  Take some McCormick extracts, like coconut, mint, etc. and put a drop or two in your shake.  That way you can change the flavor a little, for variety, in case you get tired of plain vanilla everyday.

You are welcome!  They are probably cheaper at Sam's club if one if available to you.

That's a good call too... do they have the single serving packs of casein as they do with whey?

Try staying at a Residence Inn, Staybridge, Extendedstay, etc. where you have a kitchen with cooking facilities.  Find a nearby grocery store as soon as you arrive in town.  Embassy Suites has awesome breakfasts with made to order omelets, although no cooking facilities, just a small fridge and micro.

Yeah, but liver tabs don't resemble contraband.
They just look like Alpo - and smell like it, too.

I got a Sam's card JUST for the EAS Protein..... I guess I can buy other things too. ;D
