There were a bunch of vids from Hawaii on there and I thought the same thing.  Be cool for Keith to chime in on them.

I think Ed came to Gus's show in 89' but I don't think he competed.  I emceed Gus' show from 89' to 93' which I think was the last year he did it in Hawaii.  In the early to mid 80's Gus's show was huge.  I heard he packed the Sheraton and had up to 5000 people in the crowd.  Back then it was known as the Budweiser World Recdord Breakers.  When he lsot the sponsorship the show went downhill.  It was fun as hell working those meets.  He liked me cause I got the crwod really fired up.

A couple photos from the show.

Very cool Keith.....many of the vids I found of the meet on youtube were around 85 and there were tons of incredible lifters....Hatfield, Coan, Furnas, Arcidi....  had to be a great time to live there.

Keith, even though Ed was super strong he was only 198lbs; do you think at the time, you could have pressed him over head and thrown him through a window (if necessary)?

Hey Big Boy,

how much do you weigh in the pic with the yellow hat?

Did you get "bit by a spider" in the 80's too?
