I think they must have had some kind of tracking device (gps?)

first launch didn't go as well and they had to look for a long time to find it

Yeah that was pretty cool.    I wonder what the purpose was for the radar refecting tape.

in the first video they have to hike for a long time to find it so maybe it was just to make it easier to find on the ground

Those are cool pics, but I'd be way too worried that thing would get sucked into an airplane's engine.  Maybe they got clearance first, IDK.
