http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_congress_health_attacks

"The package provides $1.5 billion to monitor the health rescue and cleanup workers and treat illnesses related to ground zero. It also reopens a victims' compensation fund with $2.7 billion.

The bill would be paid for with a fee on some foreign firms that get U.S. government procurement contracts. The bill also calls for extending fees on certain firms that rely on H-1B and L-1 visas."

They found a way to pay for this as opposed to the dems...

hmmm, guess its a win/win, right blacken?

This was the right thing to do. A smaller paid for bill as opposed to another boondagle.

If this is true i have to take some of the shit back i said about the repub.

The democrats seemes to be lost somewhere. Cant figure out if they are beyond incompetent or what?
Not even with the majority they could not seem to get anything done.

Is all bills the dem have laid out this year somehow filled with wastefull spending and/or earmarks not related to the issue at hand?
There seem to be a pattern here

Steps in the right direction. Thanks to the Republicans.

Any improvement to the economy from now on will be due to the Republicans, not the Dems, nor Obama.

great bill, shitty timing.

They could have been heroes and said "this is the ONLY bill we pass until we get the bush tax cut".

instead, they shit on 911 heroes and get 2 weeks of bad press.  Luckily they came up with this good idea.  But at this point, it's using a single kleenex to clean up a 10-man bukkake victim.

Repubs have officially lost their grasp on 9/11.  They put tax cuts before 911 hero health.  Sure, they slashed budget 2 weeks later once they thought of some way to lessen the PR nightmare.

Doesn't change the fact they did get a pretty bad black eye with 911 heroes.

ACTUALLY...

this was one of their issues from day one, the price tag and how it was paid for...they were never against helping the first responders like you and your alter ego would have ppl believe...

but hey dont let facts get in the way of your idiocy  ;)

Sorry if I don't operate on emotions and crying.   The original bill was a complete clusterfuck open ended and not paid for.  They had two years to deal with this and then stamped thei feet at the last minute because it was not going to get done.

KC - how old are you?
