I live in the Bronx, and we have many tiny different nabes.  Some all jews, all irish, all wops, all black, hispanics, etc.  i have lived here for my entire life and its the same ole same ole.  Different year, same shit.  


Same hoods with the same problems year after year.    Same hoods keep nice so long as the Section 8, and welfare shit is kept out, year after year.  I know how that comes across, but it is my observation after 35 years in the Bronx.   After awhle - I just reached the conclusion that it is what it is and if people living in the shit hoods want to improve it, its up to them do do it.

Kids are already off for Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa starts the day after Christmas. The criminal who started it never intended to replace Christmas, they are supposed to be celebrated together.

Kwanzaa's not a federal holiday. (It isn't even really that popular- it's more a media thing). But you can start celebrating any of those holidays you listed anytime just like the people who celebrate Kwanzaa do.
