for the last 6 weeks ive been doing abs ed with good results but someone told me that i should do them no more than eod or 2-3 X a week. i do 150-450 reps depending on variables like time/energy etc.. so my question is...

do a need a rest day in between?

thnx

If you can do that many reps I'd say mix it up and give weighted ab lifts a try.  I like rope crunches.  Train them just like any other muscle group.

i do mix it up targeting diff areas everytime n also weighted and un weighted. but its hard to work one part without hitting the others secondarily

If you can do that many reps for abs you're not doing them right.

I would train abs no more than twice a week......just my 2 cents though......I really have had good luck with Cybex crunches......and leg raises......3 sets a piece.......20 reps per set.

once youve built them, they dont need much work to maintain....... a few odd sets here n there is all most people seem to do..... i do hope u realise 100's of reps doesnt equal ripped abbs
