Been seeing a lot of commercials for men to buy their women a Vermont Teddy Bear for Valentine's Day.
What would you think if your man got you a Vermont Teddy Bear for Valentine's Day?

Teddy Bears and toys are for young children, yuck

jewels are certainly the best option...

even a pair of cheap dangly earrings when you haven't got pierced ears
is better than a stuffed teddy.

I guess I'm too practical for frivolous gifts. I'd rather have something done for me, like having my car detailed or something like that.

Yes, yes, yes! this is a good gift: you make up hand-made "gift vouchers" and staple them into a coupon book made with love...

You give your live-in lover a book of tokens, for example:

"one night off" and "stay in bed till noon"
and "a foot rub", "a back massage" and
"interior car vacuum and exterior polish"
"a blow job",

plus a few silly obvious things like "take rubbish out", "walk the dogs in the rain when it's my turn", "clean the toilet and sink and bath and floor" and "3 big fat sloppy kisses and a mad hug"

ps: joke is, it's highly unlikely that they'll ever cash in any of these daft coupons you've made for them, they'd feel too embarrased and will instead just do it themselves. But it's funny, and it's the thought that counts...

....yes I mean something sexy but also some other stuff that a woman might like some soap,pj's.robe,slippers and stuff like that.

Slippers no way either. A pair of nice Jimmy Choo's of her choice might be okay though.

If you feel you must buy her sexy underwear, do be sure to check the size on the labels in the stuff in her top drawer beforehand?

Because there's nothing worse than giving or getting black lace crotchless that are too big.

No... no soap. Too many things can go wrong with that one.

Slippers are great. I love slippers. Just can't seem to have them around this house.

Slippers and soap are appropriate presents for Grandmas and Aunties at Christmas, not for your hot lover on Valentine's Day.

I gave scented bath oils and lotion as part of a gift. then drew a bath and gave her a bubble bath with candles and stuff. it seemed very appreciated. I hate v-day

Hello? who's Natwonder? I'm surprised I've missed that one, I'm usually good at spotting gimmicks.

Dinner, like steak or something madly expensive (at home, made with love) and a romcom rented movie or two is always a reliable way to spend mushy lovey day. Or perhaps splash out and go to the newest film at the box office or one which is up for an Oscar you've not yet seen but want to?

But I like many, will be alone next 14th February, it's just another Monday...

There's certain things that always remind you of Valentine's Day. Beautiful bunches of roses perhaps, or perfectly wrapped boxes of chocolates. Or Clintons, reminding you on a daily basis about their collection of overly soppy cards.

One thing we don't tend to link romance to though, is the common cucumber.

Until now! Sainsburys have confirmed that they have launched a heart-shaped cucumber. Yup, you too can show your partner you love them by adding a little heart-shaped fun to their sandwiches.

The cucumbers are available for £1 each, and there are apparently plans to create more shaped vegetables.

We're intrigued how many of these they'll sell. Also, worried about the kinds of people who might end up buying one...
